We upgraded to Sams 100.00 a year credit card and have had nothing but trouble with the card ever since. The card had great cash back offers but the customer service of the bank that handled this card is the worst. If you use the card multiple times the bank puts a hold on the card so your sales decline until you call this bank fight your way through the computers to get a live person then fight to get someone from the USA then you get to talk to some of the rudest reps I have ever felt with.I love Sams club but hate their bank

Tip for consumers:
The upgrade is not worth the hassle.I have had it 2 months and have a hold put on it Twiceand the fight to get the card useable is a battle

I love Sams club but hate the bank card it offers cash rebate’s but if you use the card they place a hold on it so your sales decline until you call some of the most rude customer service representative you will ever talk to and all for just $100.00 a year Synchrony bank is the worst I have ever felt with

Better hope you do not have an issue with them or Synchrony Bank, have been dealing with this issue since November of 2022, yes it is September of 2023 and I'm still having to call them every month as I do not owe them anything. I have emails from disputes saying they refunded my ez payments and that all future charges have been removed but yet I receive an email every month saying I missed a payment. When I call QVC they say its a Synchrony issue and to call them. When I call Synchrony they say it's a QVC issue and to call them.

While I am "okay" with PayPal (for small transactions ONLY), their "alliance" with Synchrony Bank/Credit is an appalling dung-heap of unethical & basically ILLEGAL credit line practices.
After 3 attempts to transfer the balance (which their foreign, non-english-speaking operators are prompted to say it CANNOT be) I was finally able to complete it (after my personal bank/credit-line sent 3 different checks to the 3 different addresses given to me AFTER PROVING that I can LEGALLY TRANSFER FROM Synchrony TO my other, lower rate credit line).
My credit was moderately damaged, despite a 16 year PERFECT RECORD due to Synchrony Credit REJECTING the previous 2 checks (which I understand negates further payments FROM me).
The BBB really was NO HELP either.

I hope I have enough room for pictures to show how horrid this was...& it WASN'T the 1st time, either.

Any legal atty. Willing to contact me about persuing this is welcome, but must first provide valid credentials.

The absurdity of "bully banks" has to come to an end...OR the rest will suffer the fate of SVB...AT THE TUNE OF THE CUSTOMER & NOT THE BANK!

Tip for consumers:
Don't use it...if you plan on keeping a revolving balance & decide to transfer out...to another line of credit with a lower interest rate; expecting to strengthen yiur credit.

In 2020 Harbor Freight launched it's credit card for tool purchases. I opened a credit account with Harbor Freight through it's financier Synchrony Bank since I was already purchasing tools for my remodeling business. I am business minded, so when I setup the account I made sure that opted in for email and text notification and auto-pay. In July 2022 I found that my credit report had listed a late payment of $38.00 (minimum payment) more than 30 days late and my credit score dipped 200 points. I had received no communication that the payment had not gone through or that it was even past due. I was furious and just paid off the owing amount of $38.00 and closed the account. I am very disappointed in with Synchrony Bank's system failure and how this has had such a negative effect on my credit and life.
I do have other accounts with Synchrony, which will be promptly paid off and closed since I have to watch my back when doing business with this organization. I have found other complaints of incompetency and wish that I had done my homework before engaging in any transactions with them. I will be reducing my credit transactions in the future to only using cards for emergency payments of necessary bills. I will be putting aside a monthly deduction of my paycheck for vacations instead of using credit cards that take years to pay off. Especially when considering the predatory nature of financing and short term (unsecured) loans, it's simply ridiculous to allow these vultures to feed on my sweat with interest rates and late fees.
