As a single mother of 5 children, two with terminal disabilities, our experiences with medical professionals have run the gamut of encounters, but virtually none have been as positive as our experiences with Dr. Max and his team at Tender Smiles 4 Kids.

We have been blessed to receive care under the love and compassion of Tender Smiles for the past eight years and every single experience with every single child has been positive. This totals more than 100 appointments! Dr. Max is so patient and compassionate with my disabled boys and he even goes so far as to sing to them right along with me while he is treating them. He is also funny and relatable with my able-bodied children, all who are in their teens.

All of the hygienists, techs, and office staff are a pure joy to work with as well and I am always greeted with a smile, courtesy, and respect at all of my appointments. On the irregular occasions where we were under the care of Dr. Scott, I can also emphatically state that it was a most pleasant experience (as pleasant as a tooth extraction can be for my little one) and his calm and gentle demeanor even settled my nerves!

We have received an excellent education with this practice, not only in the care of our teeth as even I have applied some principles learned by the team, but also in learning which foods are Tooth Friendly, for who knew that those seemingly healthy gummy vitamins and wholesome natural granola bars are a tooth's enemy?!

The entire staff is eternally patient with us as we file into the office with wheelchairs and siblings all in a row like little ducklings! They provide space for our mobility needs and additional medical equipment and they even stagger my appointments perfectly so I can ferry around from one child to the next. Furthermore, Dr. Max is the only doctor in my 20+ years of motherhood that sees all five of my children at the same appointment. Even our pediatrician requires separate appointments for my kids!

The staff is rhythmic and timely and we are rarely detained in the waiting room for very long. The office is bright and inviting and super clean (I would know- I'm a mega germaphobe and regularly seek out errant germs which I may eradicate with a spritz of my personal hand sani, yet there are none to be found in the office!) Even in the midst of COVID isolation, the team offered additional accommodations for my special boys in order to provide the utmost in hygiene and safety.
