My first wife's favorite cake was the Italian cream cake. Her birthday was on Christmas and she and my son would just love to eat this cake.
She passed away in 2005 and my son's birthday was yesterday he was 35 and I thought I'd surprise him by getting him a cake that he had fond memories of.
Well he had a crappy birthday because this cake was heinous.
Way too much pudding that was mass produced and very solid, not like pudding at all, more like a massed produced fondant type of inedible ick.
I remember the light white fluffy icing the smooth tasty pudding, not anymore.
I paid $60 for a manky cake.
Talk about coasting on a reputation.
You'd be better off making it yourself and even if it came out crappy it would be better than this cake that I purchased from a supposed professional.

my son had one piece of cake and then threw it away, I tasted it and I agreed with his action. it was actually terrible.
