This morning I gave vons.com another chance and ordered just a few items that were supposed to be delivered within the next 2 1/2 hours. None of them said they were out of stock. What I have gathered from this experience is that someone who works at the supermarket they use is the person who does the shopping, which makes it even more inexcusable. I made the mistake of accepting substitutions, the option for different sizes of the same product, which they ignored, and they were all vons store brands. I ordered 3 common frozen vegetables, and they substituted 2 of them with more expensive brands. The organic chicken Italian sausage without casing was replaced by some completely different brand and type of chicken sausage with a tough pork casing. Another thing is that the large pack of spinach had clearly been thawed and refrozen at some point due to frozen lumps of chopped spinach in the bag. The only good thing I can say was the driver was nice and followed instructions. He arrived about 15 minutes into the 2 hour delivery window. They had the shopping, which was mostly frozen, packed and waiting for the driver, who wasn't there at the time, to come for it, so this could be a real problem if it sits too long, especially in hot weather. Amazon fresh do the same, and there have been many problems with thawed items from them. What makes this even worse than amazon fresh is that I usually (potentially) get what I order from amazon fresh for same day delivery. It's unusual when something is out of stock. Mistakes and bad food handling are ongoing issues with amazon fresh, and I have to spend $35 minimum, but after this experience with vons.com I think I'll have to continue with amazon fresh. Update - the next day - Extremely poor service and no communication -The water here tastes so bad and I've got so dehydrated that I decided to look into bottled water and found one that sounded like really good quality. They had some at vons, and I needed some fast. This was even a worse experience than yesterday. I ordered some and the driver marked it as delivered 33 minutes before he actually delivered it. Since it was nowhere to be seen on my property, I had to go onto customer service who told me they were going to contact the person in charge at the store and they would get back to me to replace the water. I never heard a thing. After contacting customer service and going through all of that hassle I saw 2 bags outside my gate which turned out to be the water. The driver had completely ignored my delivery instructions to bring the water to the front door, and for me right now, in my present physical condition, it is near impossible for me to bend over or pick anything up, especially something heavy like that. I later saw somewhere that the delivery time had been altered to the later time. Words cannot express how bad vons has become. Update - When I contacted customer service about these 2 experiences, they told me they would refund me for the awful sausage substitution that was made on the first day, but to date that has never happened, and it is now 26 November. Vons now make amazon fresh look good. I cancelled the free delivery trial of what they call fresh pass. The delivery is by something called door dash. The main problem is the fault of whomever is in charge of doing the shopping there at vons. Door dash just do the delivery part. The tip is supposed to be optional, but nowhere could I see a way to change the percentage that was set by vons or how to delete it altogether, which I think is deliberate. Their help file is wrong, I think deliberately so as well, because it gives completely wrong information on how to cancel fresh pass. I finally found the place to cancel in teeny tiny print down the page instead of at the top as claimed. Vons should be ashamed of themselves for running their delivery scam.

Let me first tell you the manager of the Vons grocery store in Lake Isabella went above and beyond his duties as a manager. It was our Moms birthday and the two florists Colleen and Laurie made the most beautiful arrangement for our Mom. We tried to have the arrangement delivered to our mom in Lake Isabella because we do not live there and we could not find delivery service not even an Uber or Lyft to deliver. We tried everything. When we called Vons to inform them of our dilemma the Manager, to our surprise, offered, on his day off, to personally deliver them to our Mom! I could not believe it! This was the absolute kindest gesture I have ever bern offered from any employee or Manager at any of the Vons or the Pavilions family of stores or from any business for that matter.
We would personally like to send a huge thank you to the sweetest Manager and to the most talented floral department at Vons in Lake Isabella for a gorgeous floral arrangement and for personally delivering the arrangement to our Mom. Not only did you make her day special your kindness and thoughtfulness will remain in our hearts for many years and more. Here's to the best team of employees at Vons in Lake Isabella!

Tip for consumers:
Please do not get this wrong. Vons grocery store does not deliver. The manager was so kind and went out of his way as a favor to us and because of our personal dilemma to personally deliver them to our mom for her Birthday. Vons does not normally deliver. He was just a sweet , kind man and helped us out.

From all the delivery I've tried, Vons has been the very best. All the ingredients came as I asked, only one was substituted. The driver rang the bell, (the only one, even though I asked to the other supermarkets as well)
Excellent work.
Vons doesn't ask for a tip, while other markets charge the tip from your total bill then send an email to ask for a secondary tip and yet another one to see if you want to send a third tip... very annoying.

It was Monday night around 6:30 p.m. I went to the deli to get something to eat I decided on some chicken strips they looked very good I ended up waiting at least 20 minutes! 20! When I got there somebody was being waited on and there was a couple in front of me that wanted several things sliced so I stood I waited mind you I have a bad back and bad knee I stood I waited I stood I waited it was awful but I wanted those chicken strips LOL finally, my turn, the young gentleman came over and apologized and said his coworker was on break... but Isnt it kindof a bad time to take a break I would think at 6:30 kind of late dinner people about then. Like me! Seems like every time I go to a deli anymore there's so short staffed and the poor workers that have to deal with it all. I used to work in a deli and we were on it! Nobody stood for more than 15 seconds.Then my chicken strips were so hard I couldn't chew them.UGH!SMH

I've had my Vons account for some years and decided to try delivery. 1st picking my store didn't matter as it came from Alberson miles away. The driver couldn't speak clear and just hung up on me. Items damaged and no one contacted me when I complained. Never again. Of I wanted Uber delivery I'd call them and not Vons

Eight years ago when vons.com did its own deliveries I had no problems with them and would have given them a high rating. I ordered multiple times and received everything I ordered in what were fairly large orders for one person, as I had no car and had to spend $150 not to have to pay a delivery charge.

What a big change for the worse since they're not doing their own deliveries any more, at least not where I am. Three days ago I ordered 2 organic cabbages and multiples of 2 other items. I particularly wanted the cabbages for juicing. I had to wait 2 days for the order to be delivered and had to pay for the delivery no matter how much I bought.

The waiting is not the issue. It's that by the time you get the order you may not get what you ordered, and this is all down to vons not handling their own deliveries any more and the free for all caused by this 'personal shopping', or what they call 'partner delivery'.

Vons were well organised when they did their own deliveries and if something was out of stock it was stated at the time of ordering. I got the impression at the time, 8 years ago, that the deliveries were coming from their warehouse so they could account properly of what stock levels they had. Now the orders come from one of their supermarkets where the stock levels are ever changing. They couldn't even come up with 2 organic cabbages and cancelled them after I'd ordered them, and they were supposedly in stock at the time I ordered them.

Some man, presumably a 'personal shopper', left me a phone message after the delivery. They said on their website I had to be there and leaving an unattended order there wasn't an available option, so I thought I was going to at least get a knock on my door at the time of delivery, and I was exhausted from another sleepless night and tried to stay awake for fear of falling asleep and not hearing a knock at my door. There wasn't one, and the delivery didn't arrive until the very end of the 4-hour delivery window. It would have been nice to know they would just leave the order without bothering me instead of making it sound like the opposite.

I hope that the supermarkets in my own country don't ever go this way because I will be moving back there. They do their own deliveries in proper vans that ensure your frozen and cold items arrive that way, and there's none of this 'personal shopper' rubbish, that isn't really personal at all, except that an individual person delivers it and sometimes also selects it, and not very well in my experiences with them.

Vons makes excuses month after a month for employees ineptitude. They hired less than stellar employees and we get stuck picking up the tab with our money and our time. Complaints get no solution as they just continue in their same vein. Case in point gas Mart store with food and medicines and they close for more than an hour and a half supposedly for an employee's lunch. I'm not aware that the lunch timing has changed with unions. They need to have relief workers to give their employees the breaks the're entitled to and only the breaks they're entitled to.

Tip for consumers:
At 6:23 I was there and the sign said back at 8:00 and they do this repeatedly and continually no matter how often you complain to management. Nothing changes they're going to do whatever they want to do and we're foolish enough to keep paying the tab or trying to rely on a company that is unreliable.

Products used:
Stofffers dinners as my diabetic meals and then they close for an hour and a half so that you can't cook them. I skipped dinner and there's no excuse for that. A specifically made a bus trip up there for my dinner and they were closed for an hour and a half which is not a union lunch time ever so I left with nothing but a wasted one hour trip hungry and the day after effects of no meal.

My wife and I were in the line at checkout. The cashier bagged our groceries but did not put them in grocery cart. So my wife and I were putting them in the cart and the cashier was already helping other customers. Other people were waiting on us and I felt like they were getting impatient. That cashier does the minimum to help, and always makes us feel like she's rushing us out the door. Yes, this has happened with her a few times.
The store number is 3208. San Gabriel California.
Date and time this last occred was 10/14/2023. 10:50pm.

I use to get groceries delivered from Vons.com and back then would of rated a 5star, until INSTACART took over their payment system and declines my card that every other site takes even Vons before they took over. Now i cannot get deliveries from local stores with reasonable/low prices, only option is speciality stores with prices 3x the cost which screws up my budget and without owning a car makes getting my needs met nearly impossible!

I don't know what they did to this website a few months ago, but more than half the time it is "under service" and impossible to sign into. Used to be easy to use but it is now a waste of time and energy.

I went to the Vons on Mission Gorge Rd in San Diego today. The clerk was so rude I had to tell her to bring her attitude down. She was literally fussing at me from the moment she saw me. "You have to come through this line because it's the only one so come on over here blah blah blah". She was telling me to ignore the sign of only 15 items and when that happens I just need to do this that and the other. It wasn't so much the words as her attitude - as if she was chastising me for taking the time to read the sign. I've never been to the store before but that shouldn't matter. She did it again with the whole phone number thing - not informing me but rather scolding me about how I have to put the phone number in first, etc. Her voice was that of one scolding a misbehaving student or something. I asked her to bring her attitude down! She changed to something a little more pleasant for just a moment. Although she had never greeted me, not even hello, she made sure to say to the white lady in line behind me "good morning, how are you doing?". I told her I was fine and asked how she was doing. (Yes, I know she wasn't talking to me. I was making a point.) Then, she never bothered to tell me my total. I had to look for it. By then I was done with her! I'm a black woman with gray hair. I feel like as soon as she saw me, she summed me up according to her ignorant and limited profile in her head. I blame the management and her, because in this day and age we all already know better! Anyway, I just want to go to the grocery store and get treated like a customer. I guess that's too much to ask at this Vons. I don't live in California. Vons has left a bad taste in my mouth from my visit. Ignorant employees who treat customers according to the employee's own personal bias - it's just not okay!

I was a regular shopper of their site before but then their payment system which is instacart come into play and makes it difficult to take payments. My cards was always getting declined. I tried to call them but it is hard to reach them. Hope they got this issues fix asap. Really disappointed!
