“The WCF Tournaments has proved itself to be reliable...”

The WCF Tournaments has proved itself to be reliable and as advertised. It's management and promotion has been a 1st class act that delivers. Most team enrollments in the tournament do not happen until the last days before the tournament start date. This would make a pre-tournament exact cash payout impossible weeks or months in advance. The same holds true about listing the participating teams. If the projected cash award amount is not met the signed up team captains are notified and allowed to opt out. I will participate in these Tournaments again with my full support.

“Here is a website that boasts the 'highest payout'...”

Here is a website that boasts the 'highest payout' fishing tournaments on the West Coast. They have yet to meet any tournament goal they published on their website or on any related fishing forum board. If you review the website you will not find any link to the number of entries for any given upcoming tournament of theirs, so that any team could make a reasonable decision to enter based on the payout. They do post an ambiguous (based on) type of payout structure that they have never achieved; not even close! They NEVER post a 'progressive' entry number, and won't give you the information even if you ask. To make this website even worse, their current tournament boasted a $20,000 payout based on 50 teams that they 'UPGRADED' to $22,000 indicating entries in excess of the 50 stated on the entry form. Guess what? After the posted entry deadline they ended up with eleven (11) entries. How can the payout increase with ONLY a 20% entry confirmation at deadline. This obviously appears to be a 'FOR PROFIT' website aimed at profiting from unsuspecting fishermen by not being forthcoming with information being asked for. There are way too many excellent fishing tournaments, both non-profit and for profit, for me to chance getting shafted by this site. Fishermen beware of WCFT tournaments!

I've fished the WCFT tournaments they are great. Great people, good family fun and the highest payouts (cash and gear) of any CA salmon or trout tournaments. 2010 was the 1st year and some of the tournaments didn't reach the max payout. Before those tournaments, all the entrants were contacted and allowed to opt out if the purse was not to their liking. This is a CLASS operation run by folks who really care about the landlocked king salmon fishery in the state and put their time and money where their mouth is.

This year looks like a great year for WCFT - more entrants and more and even better prizes. Don't let keyboard curmudgeons who comment on everything and participate in nothing influence your opinion. Call or email the folks at WCFT and form your own opinion.

I also fish the WCFT tournaments last year. They were not only fun but I learned a lot from the people fishing them and the tournament master as well. I use to fish black bass tournaments years back and the WCFT crew ran the tournaments liked seasoned pros even though it was their first year.
