Accepted offer from R&W Freight to move an expensive cabinet. Good communication but serious service issues. The owner kept changing the pickup time until 8am to 10am turned into 4 in the afternoon with delivery at Midnight. The workers explained the owner had switched companies to rent their truck which caused the delay. It also meant they arrived with no furniture pads, no hand truck, and the truck had no lift gate or ramp! The guys got permission from the owner to purchase one pad and a few wimpy straps.
We lent them our hand truck and a quilt with the understanding we'd get these items back from the delivery site at a later time.
Here is the good news: the two guys who came were super nice and accommodating. They didn't know much about furniture moving but followed my husband's instructions to the letter. The cabinet arrived at its destination in very good shape. I wish there were some way of just hiring these two without going through the businesses on the Shiply site. I did not get my deposit back as promised, but the job itself was well done so that's good enough. This was a valuable learning experience! Will not use Shiply again.
