After nearly a month of purchasing the artwork, all I got so far is the artwork has been lost in transit and they use very unreliable couriers like UPS and they also try to get you to buy an expensive frame from them. They also do not proactive follow up on issues, you have to keep on chasing things up with them.

Please don't bother with these people, they can not even communicate properly in English sometimes.

It was later confirmed in 2023 that the artwork was officially lost by the courier. However, I recently discovered the exact same artwork is now back on their website with the price jacked up more than 3 times than before.

Many other websites offer a much better experience and much faster delivery. Other websites also operate with much higher ethical and professional standards. Certainly, if the artwork was eventually found, they should contact me to check if I was still interested in the artwork.

The whole experience felt like a scam, and you lost earning interest on your money while it is parked in their account while they do "investigations" for several months.

I ordered the item on 31 May 2023, the item was only shipped on 9 June 2023. During this time, there was much miscommunication between me and Artmajeur about the choice of frame and they sent the artwork with a frame colour I did not particularly like.

At least the item was sent... But already this miscommunication has left a bad impression.

The terms and conditions clearly specified that the seller must use a courier with a tracking service and insurance and deliver this within 3-7 working days.

Today is 28 June 2023, the last tracking was 10 June and showing it has not left the country. They said that the item has left but in another location that is merely 1 hour by train on 15 June 2023 (Really? It took them 6 days to reach another depot that is one hour away?) But again, there is no further update on the item after 10 June 2023.

Furthermore, there is no estimated delivery date, no further updates, and the only update was a query I made (which I created and chased up myself). I then asked for this to be changed to leave in a safe place, so once it is delivered, I can ask my neighbour or someone to pick this up as I have a security camera. This will avoid a situation where the parcel gets sent back to the post office and returned because I am not at home (especially since there is no estimated delivery date for me to plan). This was not actioned as far as I know.

And I checked all the major interruptions, none of them affects the countries involved.

While Artmajeur has offered a partial refund it is still leaving the customer with a bad experience.

I have bought art from other websites, not only the delivery is fast, with regular tracking/estimated date of delivery, but they also take care of the customs tax for you. In fact, all my other artworks bought around the same time from other websites arrived three weeks earlier. In my case, the customs tax is not applicable, but you are much better off buying from other websites. The hassle and constant chase-up are just not worth it.

Why do you really ever want to buy art from this website? Many other websites sell identical artwork and sometimes with a special discount as well.

It is not acceptable for me for this website to argue this is beyond their control. When we buy something, delivery and getting the item promptly is an essential part of the experience. We are not in a situation where there is a war/epidemic that prevents delivery either.

Please think twice before buying from these people.
