I have tried them all (penny auction sites) over the years. I have read all the reviews and then experienced it for myself.

Without a doubt, DealDash is the one for me!

It (DealDash) is honest and fair. I never once felt "cheated" or misled in any way. It is addictive for sure, but that is for each individual to sort out for themselves.

The products are great, shipped quickly (unless otherwise indicated) and customer service is absolutely efficient and professional.

There is nothing else to say except that this site if for me.

After two quick wins using only 8 bids / pennies, my account got suspended.

The reason: My shipping and residence address is within the USA, but I was bidding from Africa (my computer IP showed this). Therefor they suspended my account as one must be "resident" in the USA. In all logical terms, I am indeed a USA resident, especially considering my shipping address being also in the USA.

The main reason for suspension: Winning too quickly and too effectively.

Dont know about the Australian Quibids one, but the US Quibids one is very close to being a "scam". Not advised to join them.

I recently joined Quibids (online penny auction site). I understand the dangerous of penny auctions and how the system works.

So, with a bit of experience, I started winning auctions at Quibids (won 2 auctions using only 8 bids / pennies) quickly.

Very shortly after the wins, my account was suddenly suspended. Upon inquiring, I was told that my computer IP shows I am not based in the USA. Although my shipping address and residence is in the USA (at the time I was working on a contract in Africa), they could not accept the fact that my computer was somewhere else in the world.

So, here is the kicker. Upon signup, one has to purchase bids, which I did. This money they accepted without any problems (although they should have seen by then that my computer IP was indicating Africa).

It is very disturbing to try and figure out why. The only simple answer that comes up time and again is this... I won too quickly and too effectively. They did not like that. And kaboom... no more me.

Again, with my shipping and residence address in the USA, it is very inconsiderate of Quibids to suspend my account because of where I was bidding from.

Unbelievable. Their customer service was horrible and short off, insulting at times.

I do not recommend this site.

I then pushed the envelope and described my exact situation to other penny auction sites (that my computer IP shows Africa, but my residence and shipping address is in the USA). Every single one of them (I approached 5 sites) approved / did not have any problems for me signing up with these conditions.

Quibids do not like winners. Watch out.

Tip for consumers:
Do your research first before signing up to any penny auction site. Auctions are fun and entertaining, but is considered by many as a form of gambling. Be careful, with both your money and your site of choice.

Hi Andries. We would never close an account because the user is winning "too quickly and too effectively." We simply do not allow users to bid from a country other than their residence as a way to prevent fraud and to ensure the security of our users. We take account security very seriously here at QuiBids and we have a compliance team that monitors accounts and activity to make sure that everyone is bidding on an equal playing field. Although we cannot speak for other auction sites, we instill controls like this to give our customers a better peace of mind knowing they can bid safely on our site. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
