What a joke of a company. Suddenly my apartment building and all under the umbrella of this unprofessional company are forced to pay rent through the Bilt app. Previously we had an online portal to submit rent through. It alllowed payments to be split or however many bank accounts to use. You know, normal stuff,
Now we're forced to use this childish, gimmicky Bilt. Bilt also encourages you to apply for their partner in crime credit card which is a Wells Fargo card. Beware!
Last month my direct deposit didn't hit my linked bank account before my rent was withdrawn. I've paid timely mortgages and rent for over 50 years FYI. When I got the notice from my bank that my rent payment didn't go through, I immediately logged into the Bilt app to resubmit the payment after an instant transfer from my savings account to checking. But I was punished and scolded and not allowed to and denied access to Bilt.
I'm desperation to get the rest paid in time I applied for their credit card, assuming I could pay rent that way. Got approved for the card immediately but Bilt wouldn't let me use it until it arrived in the mail by pony express (usps). So my apartment management forced me to go on a wild goose chase to get a cashier's check, with fee, and added a $25 llate fee. Also I was such a bad girl (75 year old professional) that for ONE WHOLE YEAR I can only pay rent with a cashier's check. Involves a lot of running around to banks for me to get said check.
Wait. There's more. Before the Bilt credit card even arrived I got a call from Wells Fargo fraud unit that someone charged items at Nordstrom on my card. Do you believe this crap?
So I cancelled their untrustworthy card.
I will be moving out because of this horrible experience.
