I bought a system with four handsets; one of them was covered in thick rubber for outside use (can drop it in pool, etc.) The phone has lasted for years, but the outside one stopped working so I took it to a local repair and they tried but could not fix it. I wrote the website and they sent me back instructions. One, unplug the battery and while holding two keys down, replug the battery, did notwork. Two, put the handset into the base to set its location, the phone is too large, with the rubber, to fit into the main unit. Meanwhile I was reminded that a friend bought the same set at the same time and never used it. She gave me the rubber one and I faced the same problem, could not set it into the main unit.

Each step of the way, I was going back to the website and outlining all that was happening and not happening and asking for help. Four times, they responded, each time with exactly what I was telling them I had already tried and why it didn't work. They stopped responding to me at all. They have a phone number which is never ever answered--I have tried different days, different times, they just don't answer it.

I have a perfectly good phone and I really want to be able to use it, and the manufacturer will flat-out not help me. What's a lady to do?
