A little about myself, I have been in and around construction for the past 35 years so I understand a little of what should go on and happen in the purchase and erection of most structures. I teach at the high school level and try to provide students with proper information in the construction field and also information as a consumer.
CanAm Steel Buildings over all their building is a good product but when it comes to the over all service and support not so much. In the building of my building the fact was pointed out that I had braces missing on the building and so my first response was to call and ask if they would supply the braces that were missing on my building per request of inspection. They said that they would not send these braces because they are not required and so begins the battle of requesting and being denied products belonging to the building. After a period of time in order to get inspected I purchased steel braces and placed them in the building. If I have any recommendation it would be that somewhere along the way the buyer should be able to hold a retainer of some sort in order to protect themselves from this type of dealings. The customer service they tell you is good, not so much and yes I had requested the braces in the proper time frame which they allow you to let them know some thing is missing from the order.

We sincerely appreciate Brad’s business and that he's taken time to post his review. Even though thousands of CanAm buildings are in service throughout the United States, most of the time we hear very little from customers once our product has delivered. An experience like Brad’s being brought to our attention provides us a much-valued opportunity to further improve the service on which we've built our reputation.
We heard from Brad that he hadn’t received enough flange braces and our quality service team quickly investigated. We found that the right number of braces for Brad’s building had been shipped – Brad told us that he had them and that he had installed all of them but that his inspector wanted to see twice as many put in. Since all of the braces needed per the building’s engineered design were in, we offered to reach out to Brad’s inspector to see why he/she wanted more. Brad instead said he’d just rather buy more braces – something he decided to handle locally.
We’re glad for Brad’s order and we’re thankful for the opportunity to be of service. It’s disappointing that Brad may have spent more money to buy something that wasn’t needed though. Our director called and left a message for Brad on January 8th to see what more we could do to help. We haven’t heard back from him yet but we hope he’s enjoying his building.
