Set up a free 1-week trial to play around on the platform and see if it'd be valuable for me. I had a couple major issues with the platform:
(1) Value—I'm a strategy consultant in the health tech space, so was looking for startups aligned with my expertise. While there were a couple, they were obviously unfundable / not well thought out business concepts (i.e., not even salvageable without pivoting to a new idea altogether). Several non healthcare startups reached out to invite me to sit on their board, which would make zero sense given they operate in markets I know next to nothing about. Overall, left with a feeling that there's not a ton of real value exchange going on here.
(2) Ethics of the company—I cancelled my trial subscription on the 7th day, but was a mere hour or two after the exact time I initiated the trial 7 days prior. I was shocked to see a $195 charge go through for one month of additional access. After explaining the situation, customer service and a supervisor both declined to offer a refund. This business truly operates in bad faith and I can't fathom what kind of leaders, team, and culture prey on consumers (this was a personal, not business expense for me) to eke out some extra subscription revenue. Disgusting professional behavior that I would tell any of my network to avoid on principle, beyond the fact that the value of the platform itself is low.
