On 2/16, my 91 yr-old Asian aunt was dispatched a car from Brooklyn Radio Dispatcher by her Long-Term Care company to go home after physical therapy. After waiting over an hour, the driver drove her through unfamiliar neighborhoods; the normally 45 minute trip took 1-1/2 hours.

When arriving at her home, the driver began to interrogate her loudly about her name, her age, her date of birth. Her English being very limited, she became frightened by his angry manner. She feared that he would hurt her. She tried to leave the car, but he shouted at her, "No! No! No!" Only when her home health aide (inappropriately) provided him with the information did he allow them to go. When she got home, she called me, hysterically crying. She was so terrified by this experience she didn't want to go to physical therapy anymore. She was afraid the driver would come back to her house unexpectedly to do her harm.

This is horrendous behavior by a driver who had no right to question an elderly non-English speaking client to obtain her personal information and to frighten her with detention. My aunt came from a communist country where this kind of interrogation is followed by a beating. I cannot stress enough the impropriety of this driver who took it upon himself to terrorize a helpless old woman. No driver of a car service has a right to personal information other than the fare's name and address. When confronted, Brooklyn Radio Dispatcher claimed they needed the information for insurances purposes, a highly irregular claim disputed by the insurance carrier. Only the Long-Term Care company which calls for the car service can request a client's birth date. Have you ever hailed a car service and was asked your birth date?

I would never recommend that a lone woman hire this car service if this is the unpredictable and frightening experience awaiting her when she arrives home and tries to leave the car.

It might not be tons of money, but a few dollars here and there at my favorite online stores add up over time. It's fun to receive my Big Fat Checks. But sometimes you have to make sure and check your shopping trips. If something is missing, it's easy to claim your rebate by submitting your sales invoice to Ebates and their reps will take care of it quickly. I even saved money booking a hotel room through Ebates Hotels.

"Care2 Stands Against: bigots, bullies, science deniers, misogynists, gun lobbyists, xenophobes, the willfully ignorant, animal abusers, frackers, and other mean people. If you find yourself aligning with any of those folks, you can move along, nothing to see here."

Sounds good, yes? Read between the lines. While I have no arguments against targeting animal abusers, the other labels need better definition because it can be biased and too facile. What's Care2's definition of a bigot, a bully, or mean people? Does that mean if my views are at variance with Care2's political position that I'm a bigoted mean person who's willfully ignorant, that I should just "Move along"? Care2 isn't interested in rational discussions; it's an exclusive self-congratulatory political club that aims to intimidate, demean, and brainwash the intellectually passive.

Tip for consumers:
Read the petitions for hidden political bias before signing. You might sign a petition for the environment or for animal welfare that circles around to blame the President without proof or facts.
