I work in a place where water gets everywhere and my feet get soaked so I was looking for waterproof boots. I found a pair that was really expensive even for Dr martens; waterproof with wintergrip soles, whatever that means. I looked at pics and the tread looked like it might work so I ordered them. Very first thing I did when I wore them was slip on the first ice I stepped on! Wintergrip soles can't handle ice?! Apparently they're specifically made for better grip on snow only. I have never, nor have I ever heard of anyone slipping in just snow... Well then I got to work and they had absolutely no traction whatsoever on even slightly wet floors, so they're completely useless for me for work. Well they were pretty comfy and seemed good boots for camping so I decided to use them for camping, but I still needed a pair of work boots. Went ahead and ordered the slip resistant ones specifically for oil and water slip resistance. They didn't even close to fit. Length was fine but they were narrow and the vamp was like a vice. Took three days to get them stretched properly to even get them on my feet. Then went to work. First patch of ice, bam fell and busted my knee. Later slipped on more ice and busted my other knee. Even my regular not slip resistant shoes I've never slipped in ice this much. They worked slightly better inside on the wet floors, but still nowhere near where I want them to be for $180. I could buy three pair of shoes for crews for that! But I wanted something that would last longer and heard good things about docs. Must have been back when they made them well. Can't return them cause I wore them. Doesn't matter that they don't do what they're advertised to do, still can't return them. Out $420 on two pair of worthless boots. And guess what? The reviews on their website? All fake. They have to be fake, because I went to write a review and it's not possible to write reviews, so how did they get there? Hmmm, very interesting. I should have done my research like I usually do but a good and trusted friend swore by them. Like I said, must have been back when they were actually worth anything. All in all this has been, hands down, the absolute worst shoe buying experience, by miles, I've ever had in my entire life.
