Without knowing the details of your situation, it sounds like you may have experienced our “15 minute rule” in which auctions will be extended by 15-minute increments until 15 minutes have passed without bidding activity. This rule is in place as a protection measure to prevent a practice called auction sniping, which is the act of placing bids at the last moment in the hope of denying other bidders time to place a higher bid.
