I ordered a pair of shoes from The RealReal on August 10,2022. I believed I was ordering a womens size, but they turned out to be a mens size (they were not labeled correctly on the website) and therefore did not fit, so I returned them on August 19. I paid $91.04 for the shoes including tax and shipping and I paid $12.25 to ship them back. No packing slip or instructions were included in the original package so I got an RMA number from them and shipped the shoes back to the address on their website. According to the tracking number, the package was received in their warehouse on August 22. It has been over three months and I have not received a refund. I have been going back and forth with "customer service" for months now and have had no solution. They claim to not have received the shoes even though I have a tracking number as proof that they were delivered. There is no phone number to call which is a huge red flag. I have done a live chat as well and with both that and the email exchanges no one has ever answered any of my questions or even explained the situation, all they do is tell me to wait longer. I repeat, it's been over 3 (three) months now. I've lost hope that I will ever get my money back.

The RealReal is a scam, do NOT do business with them.

This has been a horrible experience, I have wasted so much time and energy trying to get my money back to no avail. Customer service replies as if they didn't even read what I wrote, are not taking it seriously, and then they just dropped me and never responded again. The person I chatted with promised to follow up via email but never did and they also kept telling me to "not worry" which I found very condescending.

I ordered a hat from the Brixton website, but it was too big, even though it was the same size as the exact same style of hat I have in a different color which fits perfectly. I emailed customer service several times and could not get a return shipping label for weeks. The return instructions on the Brixton website said that a return shipping label would be included, but it was not. I finally got a return label and sent it back but was not refunded. Again, I tried to reach out to customer service and eventually was issued a refund, but not until almost 2 weeks after they received the item back. The only 2 times I heard back was when they sent the return label and issued the refund (again, weeks later) but I never got an apology or even a message from them. I lost a significant amount of money because shipping was $13 which seems excessive for a small, lightweight hat, and I was charged an $8 restocking fee. Brixton makes cute stuff, but I would never order from their website ever again. I would highly recommend placing an order from a third-party seller (i.e. Free People, Tilly's any other retailer that carries their brand) who offers free shipping and returns and has customer service that will actually get back to you.

I have made four purchases from Poshmark. The first order I ever made was cancelled due to the item not being available, which was pretty frustrating, but my money was refunded with no problem. The other two purchases I made went smoothly. On my fourth and final purchase from Poshmark, I continued to make offers to the seller and left a comment with no response, eventually I just bought the item, not sure if I would receive it or if it was even available because the seller was unresponsive. After I completed payment for the item, Poshmark asked me to verify my identity to confirm it was really my credit card I used for the purchase. This is what they ask:

"To Complete the Identity Verification Process on the App: Step 1: Retrieve your Government Issued Driver's License or PassportStep 2: Select "Driver's License" or "Passport" on the Verify Identity pageStep 3: Lay your selected ID flat on a dark surfaceStep 4: Scan selected ID. Ensure that selected ID is placed within the designated grid. For your Driver's License, the front and back will need to be scanned. For your Passport, only the front will need to be scanned."
This seemed odd, as I have never had an online retailer require this before, but I went in to the Poshmark app and submitted the front and back of my driver's license. I thought that was the end of that, then I received this email from Poshmark saying:

"Thank you for submitting your license for verification. Unfortunately, we were unable to successfully capture an image of your ID. In order to expedite this process so that you can continue Poshing, we ask that you please submit the requested verification via email. At this time, we ask that you please send us a screenshot of your license and attach it to this email thread.

We are committed to providing a safe, secure shopping experience for our community and we want to confirm that someone else is not using your credit card without authorization. We are requesting that you verify your identity, which allows us to confirm that you own the payment method used for orders placed with your Poshmark account. This process is only a precaution for your protection and will be used solely for verification purposes within Poshmark.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation."

They also sent this same email to me a second time. I was not comfortable sending pictures of my ID over email, but I really wanted the dress I bought and thought that they might not let me have it if I didn't verify my ID. However, I did some research and retailers cannot reject your credit card for not showing ID, as long as it is signed on the back (this goes for in-store but I think would apply to online too) Sure enough, I checked my credit card statement and it had been charged. I eventually did receive the dress with no problem. However, I don't think I will be able to use Poshmark without verifying my ID with them. For this reason, and after reading all of the negative reviews of Poshmark, I deleted my account and will not be using Poshmark again. I would recommend sticking with Ebay, I have bought and sold on there for a long time with no issues. I was going to eventually start selling on Poshmark, but after reading all of the negative reviews and experiences I am glad I never did.
