Before ordering a slip on muffler for my Yamaha 950 V-star tourer I contacted CC about the Vance & Hines slip on muffler to ask if the V&H mufflers would fit my bike and stated that I did not want the loud raspy sound nor the backfiring at deceleration. I was assured by their "in-house expert" that the V&H would fit my bike and that they were the quietest mufflers without the loud raspy sound and no back firing upon deceleration. So I ordered the mufflers all aware of the no return policy. Upon receiving the muffler, it did not and would not fit on my bike. But thinking that maybe the mounting could be resolved with a rework of the bike's mounting bracket, I throttle tested the muffler and found the pipes to be very loud, and they backfired excessively. I contacted CC and they told me that I had to purchase a fuelpak to solve the backfiring, but nothing was said about the mounting problem. Asking what was I to do with a brand new muffler that couldn't be mounted on the bike, they "advised" me to try to sell the muffler on Ebay. So much for their in house expert AND trying to resolve the mounting problem AND refusing to accept the muffler for refund inspire of the faulty mounting problem. Not a very reliable company in working with a customer who has a problem not the fault of the customer.
