Bojangles has the best breakfast biscuits, hands down. I could eat their food every day, and be just fine... and have. The location near Bayboro, NC is the only exception I've found. I won't eat at that one again, unless they make some significant improvements.

Tip for consumers:
They typically stay pretty busy, but early breakfast and lunch time can be VERY busy.

Products used:
Bacon & egg biscuit.
Chicken sandwich.
Red beans
Mac & cheese

Bad Daddy's of Brier Creek has great food, especially if you want a good burger. Good selection. Clean with a very nice atmosphere. Customer service from the wait staff was amazing. It's my goto in Raleigh/Durham when I want to get my burger fix.

I wrote reviews of Squidders Bait and Tackle, Squidders Supply Store and Squidders Overnight lodge, and posted them on YP's site. I have some serious issues with the service I received at that business as a brief regular customer there, so of course the posts were critical... 100% honest and accurate, but quite critical.

The first review posted fine, and remained online for several days. It was the only review that Squidders had on YP at the time. Then the owners of the business found it, disputed it, and somehow got it removed. They unsuccessfully tried to do the same thing on other sites, on the same day.

I sent a message to YP support to inquire about my review. They never replied. I tried posting another review, describing some of my other experiences. That one never showed up online, at all. Squidders' online YP page now says that there are no reviews yet for that business.

I'll try to post one of the reviews below to give an example of what they removed. I'll also try to post a couple of screenshots. My take-away from this though, is that the The Real Yellow Pages online customer reviews are fixed... a scam. If businesses can have negative, but accurate and honest customer reviews about them removed there, then YP's reviews have zero credibility, and therefore zero value.

Here is an example of one of my reviews:

"Some of my personal experiences at Squidders Bait and Tackle:

On an exciting day at Squidders Bar and Tackle in Vandemere, NC...

You might get to see the store manager and her girlfriend, both of whom have a history of making false accusations against men, trying to convince a female customer that two other male customers had just sexually assaulted her. You might also get to see the two of them then play the innocent little victims when they get called out for their lies by the other customers 10 seconds later.

Or...

You might get to see the best friend of the store owners, a very large & imposing male nurse, fly into an unprovoked drunken rage and try to attack a young female customer who gets away, and then physically assault a disabled American combat veteran who is also attempting to flee the violent situation.

If your eye is quick enough, you might even get to see one of the owners' extremely drunk friends groping another customer's sexual parts, without their consent, and completely against their will. Karaoke night is usually your best time to see that.

You're unlikely to hear the truth about these events though, because the owners and their friends have a habit of belittling the victims while trying to convince them that what happened to them was actually their own fault. If that doesn't shut them up, they've even been known to threaten them, as well as spread lies around about them to discredit anything they may have to say.

In the short time that I was a regular there, I witnessed all of the above, along with so much, much more, but there's simply not enough room to recount it all... or even most of it.

On a trypical day however, it's mainly just musty old women, along with a few of their ever obedient male orbiters, all sitting around chain-smoking while getting drunk and telling lies about their neighbors behind their backs."

Sitting outside and watching the rats run out of the lodge, under the bench, and into the store... back and forth, and back and forth again...was fairly entertaining. However...

I moved to Vandemere from the Raleigh/Durham area, so I began stopping by Squidders Supply Store / Squidders Bait and Tackle + Lodge in the afternoons after work to get to know some of the locals. They serve beer, and it's literally the only place in town.

The store manager there, a duplicitous married woman from Lowland who's constantly seeking attention from other men, got to where she started casually putting her hands on me in ways that at first made me uncomfortable, and then quickly progressed to the point where I really started to feel violated. She and her elderly girlfriend... both of whom have a history of making false accusations against men... talked about "swinging" ALOT around me, but even if they were slightly attractive and much less creepy, I'm just not into that.

When I didn't return her affection... and in order to protect myself, finally stopped going to the store altogether... the store manager started spreading false rumors around about me. In an attempt to further protect myself, I texted and formally asked her not to contact me or come onto my property. She had an emotional meltdown, furiously replying with multiple hate-filled texts, all of which I ignored. When that failed to provoke me, she attempted to exact her petty revenge by officially banning me from the bar and attempting to publicly humiliate me. That also failed of course, since I had already stopped going there several weeks earlier. Not only were the owners perfectly fine with all of it, one repeatedly ignored me and another responded with "Eff you," when I attempted to bring it up. Typical.

You're unlikely to catch the real story about these events though, or any of the dozens of others, because the owners and their circle of friends have a system where they belittle their really unhappy customers, while also trying to convince them that what happened to them was actually their own fault... and also telling them they just need to grow up and get over it. If that doesn't shut them up, they've also been known to threaten them, as well as spread false rumors around about them to discredit anything they may have to say. They fight tooth & nail just to keep you from reading any honest, critical customer reviews. In fact, right now the owners of Squidders actually have Creepy Kelly, their bar manager, slinking around online pretending to be someone she's not (-Hunter R-), so that she can leave fake positive reviews on sites to trick people into thinking that Squidders is more well liked than it actually is. Seems they figure that everyone else is just too stupid to realize she's their employee. This is a highly deceptive business practice that she's been engaging in for several years now. It's not only deceptive, it's outright fraud that they are commtting against the public. That right there should tell you everything you need to know about these people. Always the scheming.demons.

That place is worse than anywhere I ever went in Raleigh or Durham. Endless drama being created by a bunch of musty ratchets, and spoiled, puffed-up children wobbling around in the bodies of geriatric adults.

Honestly, do yourself a great big favor... Stay well clear of Vandemere (aka; Sodom by the Sea), and go to New Bern, or Oriental if you want to have a nice, safe time.

Tip for consumers:
Among folks east of New Bern, the town of Vandemere, or "Sodom by the Sea," is considered to be the armpit of Pamlico County. Squidders is a central hangout for many of the thieves, liars, grifters, violent drunks, sexual predators, and whispering backbiters around the area. They sit around getting sloshed and telling lies, while laying in wait to shmooze and bamboozle the next unsuspecting outsider to wander in.

My personal experience with Squidders Supply Store / Squidders Bait and Tackle + Squidders Lodge

I rented Squidders Overnight Lodge for a weekend, for some friends that were coming into town. We had planned it months in advance. On the day of check-in, the lodge smelled damp and moldy, plus it also smelled like rotting fish. It seems the refrigerator stopped working earlier that week, and it had some leftover food still in it from previous guests. That's where the smell of rotting fish came from. They replaced the old refrigerator that had the rotting food in it, with a dorm-sized model that wouldn't hold much. The building is old concrete that's been flooded multiple times, which I supppose is where the damp and moldy smell comes from.

What food could not be put into the refrigerator got partially eaten by rats. I wish now I had taken photos.

The television remote control was missing, so my guests could not watch TV at all, all weekend.

Squidders Bar next door in the same building was fun at first, but it quickly filled up with alot of really drunk people. They just keep on serving them more, and more, and more… no matter how intoxicated they get. Very loud at night.

One of the bar owner's friends was blackout-level drunk and physically assaulted a disabled veteran while he was trying to leave. When a complaint was made, the owners theatened and blamed it on the victim to try to shut him up.

Local prostitutes coming to the lodge to ensure that none of the fishermen and hunters staying there get lonely while away from home, is a nice benefit I guess... if you're into that sort of thing.

The creepy, duplicitous bar manager is always trying to inject herself into the middle of everyone's conversations, stirring stuff up, and spreading a bunch of false rumors about people. In fact, right now the owners of Squidders actually have Creepy Kelly, their bar manager, slinking around online pretending to be someone she's not (- Hunter R -), so that she can leave fake positive reviews on sites to trick people into thinking that Squidders is more well liked than it actually is. Not good experiences. I won't be having any more of my guests stay there. It was incredibly embarassing, and really made me look bad. I would strongly suggest that you go somewhere in New Bern, or Oriental, if you want to have a nice, safe time.

My personal experience with Carmax.

I sold my primary vehicle to them on a Saturday. They paid for it with a company check. Their corporate policy with their own bank (according to the branch manager at their bank), is that all of their checks must be deposited. They cannot be cashed, nor exchanged for a cashier's check. No one ever inforned me of this nonsense when they offered to purchase my vehicle. Because Carmax has such a sketchy reputation among the banks (according to the bank) there was a 10 business day hold put on the deposit. That amounted to two full weeks, plus three weekends. So basically, they took my daily driver and paid me with a check that wasn't any good for three more weeks.

Buyer BEWARE... If their check is even good at all, it will most likely take several weeks to get your actual money. If you are relying on having that cash to buy your replacement vehicle, expect to be walking everywhere for several weeks, until their check finally clears.

I don't do business that way, nor do I do business with those who do. Would NOT recommend.
