Dear meetcurve,
This review is in regards to a pair of high waisted bikini bottoms that I purchased approximately 12-18 months ago.
Whilst I realise it has been quite some time since purchase, it was a recent event that truly highlighted the strength and durability of this particular clothing item.
I purchased these in anticipation for a family holiday. Having always been a "bigger" lady, I had historically gone for modest, one piece swimsuits. Since having three children however, I realised I no longer had the luxury of holding my bladder while I undressed completely in order to use the loo.
This is where your swimwear come in. I was drawn to the modest, high waisted swim bottoms, boasting ruched sides and extra "tummy control".
They served dutifully for the duration of our family holiday and have made many appearances, since my husband has discovered a love of boating and water sports.
On a recent outing on our boat, I was once again wearing my trusty meet curve bikini bottoms. Shortly after launching the boat, my youngest son began demanding he partake in the water activities; which requires an adult to go with him and as my husband was "captaining" our boat, this task fell to me.
After hurriedly zipping my life jacket, I decided (for some unknown reason) to enter the water not by my usual means of jumping in, akin to a graceless penguin, diving in for a feed; but to instead attempt the graceful slide of a mermaid, off the side of the boat. Momentarily forgetting about the various hooks and handles placed all over the edges of the boat, for mooring ect.
What resulted was not in fact a graceful, sliding water entrance; but instead a scene from a child's birthday party, with myself playing the part of a piñata, swaying in the wind. Yes, my modest, high waisted bikini bottoms had gotten caught up in one of the hooks I had previously forgotten and were no longer providing me the modesty that I'd once admired.
I do recall desperately hoping for the sound of tearing fabric, while all 80kg of me hung there, inches above the water with the most impressive (and painful) wedgie I had ever experienced. In hindsight though and despite the pain I was in, I am quite thankful that this did not happen; as it would've been far harder to preserve any modesty were I lacking bottoms completely. I was thankfully released from my atomic wedgie, approximately 30 seconds into my ordeal, by my husbands employer and able to regain some of my pride, after mooning all 10 occupants of our boat; whilst my brother and my children looked on in a combination of horror and humour.
Whilst there was some tearing to my swimming bottoms on later inspection, I must applaud the incredible durability of not only holding 80kg in the air, but by also doing so after a solid year or more of wear and tear (even if occasional). I have recommended your swimwear in the past, purely due to the comfort and array of designs, however I can safely say that they will now be my go to swimwear, both for myself and future recommendations.
