“Thesaurus.com audio ads disrupt the workday!”

The thesaurus function is good quality and I need one: I am a professional editor. But I have switched to the similar Merriam-Webster service because Thesaurus.com randomly & disturbingly launches and blares audio ads (!) if I leave the tab open during my workday. Unacceptable. I tried to contact them but had no luck.
