I loved Crowdtap, and enjoyed doing the surveys for the past two years. A few days ago I noticed the name on my account was different. I reported this, and then found out my account was locked. Now I've been banned because somehow I violated some mysterious reason buried in the User Agreement in which nobody reads entirely. I see I am not the only one recently who's been banned for no apparent reason. This needs to be looked into, as in a few bad apples doesn't make everyone bad, and that people can make honest mistakes. That said, I was actually close to another gift card, and now my time has been wasted. Thanks for wasting my time.
Edit: Edit: Crowdtap contacted me, and still gave me the same vague reason as everybody else on why I was banned. The fact that that they stated that they looked at similar accounts means that this is a problem. And since they won't give me an answer as to what I violated, I have to draw my own conclusion: They banned me for being a minority and also be transgender. Yes, I believe they are racist and bigots toward the LGBTQ community, and will believe so until they provide concrete proof that I violated their terms. These are the type of people that when you say, "Black lives matter," they reply, "All lives matter." I have yet to see them address what's been going on with police and racial minorities since this all started, hence my view they are racists.
Hi Joanna, Thanks for your feedback and we apologize for your frustration. At Crowdtap we take various quality control measures to ensure the experience is fun and fair for every member. We sometimes disable accounts based on a variety of factors, but will always rectify any account that was disabled unfairly. We'll be sending you a private message shortly so we can investigate your issue further.
Hi there,
We understand your frustration with your account being disabled. Because Crowdtap is a free site where users answer questions and get rewarded, we often find users abusing the system and violating our Terms of Service (https://crowdtap.com/terms-of-service). After you provided us with your account information yesterday, we investigated and found multiple accounts connected back to you. This is a clear violation of Section 3 of our Terms of Service which states you can only have 1 membership account, and per Section 4.16, we are able to disable your account for this violation.
We also investigated to see if there was any tampering, and found no reason to suspect your account was hacked or changed unfairly. If you have evidence to suggest your account was hacked, our Support team has requested you reply back to your ticket with that information so we can look further.
We fully support the transgender community and allow members to update their name or gender through our Support team as needed. In this instance, that was not the reason why your account was disabled.
In addition, as a company we have taken a strong stance in support of the Black Lives Matter movement with a $25,000 donation split between BLM Foundation and the NAACP Legal Defense Fund (https://www.instagram.com/p/CBLf_cTF4F-/). We will not be silent while Black community continues to fight racism and injustice, and encourage our members to donate their points to the NAACP and Equal Justice Initiative.
