I have purchased a 2001 BMW Z3 from Cal West Motors last month.
It's a nice clean looking, low mile car and came with a clean carfax report. The dealer I had worked with, Brian Casey assured me that there were no issues with the car and that there mechanics do a thorough check of all vehicles before sales. The car drove smoothly and I trusted his word. A few days prior to going back to get my tags and registration from them, I had discoverd paper work from the previous owners mechanic that showed the car had issues that needed attention. Upon receiving my tags from Brian, I had informed him of the preexisting issues, all he did was stare at me like a deer in headlights. Mike Casey, whome I belive is his father, came up and asked if there was a problem, in which I had calmly repeated myself adding that I was taking the car to my mechanic and would like to work out some type of compensation. He flat out refused and it was obvious, did not want to discuss it any further. I told him that tey would be getting bad social media reviews and his reply was "do what you have to do" and walked away. After the fact, I had gotten news from my mechanic that the car needs north of $8,000.00 worth of work. More than half of what I paid for the car. This is an ourageus rip off by Cal West Motors. Criminal im my opinion. Will be definitely seeking legal consult on this issue.
