Ahh hindsight. I am an honest seller and tried using Etsy to supplement my own humble, but growing store. The items I offer are handcrafted, the vast majority of herbal offerings grown from seed and created using traditional methods. My account has been suspended for offering an herbal blend curio that is not in violation of their terms. In fact, while it is unique, similar herbal offerings are plentiful on Etsy. The platform is costly for the rate of return. I am grateful for every customer there was an opportunity to work with and that they loved their purchases. That means more than words to me. Some made the time to share their experience with me privately and offer a rating. That is worth more than its weight in gold. In a world where time is sometimes so limited, customers chose to generously share theirs. The trouble is Etsy takes so much that hours upon hours of labor are used to pay for their fees. Their platform is not consistent in terms of the process of identifying what does and does not violate their TOS. Thankfully I only used it for about three months, but I do still wish I had read these reviews while deciding how to supplement my own store.
