Well, I have to say, Docker is really brilliant! I prefer to install applications standalone (without container virtualisation)... However, if one has applications that are extremely complex but have a Docker image (like Weblate or Discourse), Docker comes in handy 🙂! One star minus, however, because with volumes one cannot synchronise from the target device to the host! If one uses volumes, the contents of the directory are copied from the host to the target directory in the container! This is not possible the other way round

There are new support packages in place, the cost of which is making my head spin (and no, I don't mean in a good way)

I mean... SERIOUSLY? 45.90€ per month for only 3 support tickets every 3 months? 165.90€ per month for just 5 tickets every 3 months? On the first package, there will only be response after an hour at the latest and only during the week between 8am and 5pm!

Then the above prices are also billed every 3 months (all above prices * 3)

I like to use Flarum because it has a nice, modern design and can also be extended and customised with plugins and themes! There are also many plugins and themes, so there is no lack of them! Plugins can also be translated

But we know that where good exists, evil is not far away! I always enjoyed translating the numerous plugins into my native language! After some time, however, I wanted to contribute as a translation manager, so I requested manager permissions on the Weblate instance! These were rejected, but they would keep me in mind if they needed help...

All well and good, but something surprised me... This answer... It came from ONE NORMAL USER! I replied why he could decide this! Well... The answer was that he owns the Weblate instance! Funny, because, as I said, he is ONLY A NORMAL USER! So I also asked why he owns it! Then someone from Flarum, a community moderator I think, came and said that he had installed and provided the instance!

I replied, how now? So if I had just set up a Weblate instance, I should be the owner? They want me to believe that A NORMAL USER can be responsible for ALL TRANSLATIONS OF ALL PLUGINS FROM WHOLE FLARUM? That still officially approved by Flarum?

As I continued to discuss this, I was then threatened to be excluded from the community! I apologised, as the threat said that I had insulted (don't ask), which of course was never my intention! Then I still asked if I could be a translation manager and was banned!

One might think I was overdoing it, but when ONE NORMAL USER only has to install one Weblate instance (which is no world art either) to get the responsibility of ALL TRANSLATIONS OF ALL PLUGINS FROM ALL OVER FLARUM... Then officially from Flarum... Well... I mean, then I could be translation manager... No?

Well, let me start with the prices... No kidding, they want €16.90 per month for THE CHEAPEST of the two subscriptions! 24.90 for the second! But they boast that one can get a membership for 6.99, which is true, but only if one pay 12 months in advance (which is 83.90€, mind one!)! That's cheeky enough, if it weren't for the... Well... Excessive restrictions! So, one thing at a time:

- One can search for women, men, etc, but one can only use the filter (for certains ages, place of residence, relationship, etc.) if one must have a subscription!
- If someone uploads pictures or videos... Guess... One can only comment with a subscription
- If one wants to see pictures and videos for over 18... Yes, also only with a subscription to complete an FSK 18 check

By the way, one cannot pay with PayPal either... Or Klarna

I've been using WeMod for some time now and at some point I thought, why not help with the translations? Which I did! For some time! Then I asked if I could be a proofreader, which I was given! I worked again for a while! Then I asked for manager authorisations to be able to translate optimally... This was also granted to me, with the statement that I could prove myself... So far, so good... Time passed again... Then I was asked if I wanted to work on the private translation project (where the translations are for the WeMod app itself and the website, not the cheat names and descriptions, which are in the public project already mentioned)

I asked if I would also be a manager there, which was denied! I would only be a proofreader! Translating itself would also be done by a professional translator, I was only supposed to correct his work! That would be fine in itself... However... The public project, which has over literally *******-******* words to translate, is free for anyone to translate, even for me to manage? But a project that has maybe 500-2000 words at most is translated by a professional translator and only managed by WeMod staff? Recognise the mistake 😒! It was also mentioned that the private project has priority... Here, too, you should recognise the error 😒😒😒

I also told all of this to this WeMod employee, who invited me... Then what? Well... I was no longer a manager in the public project! With the statement that they had consulted with the team and only gave me the rights because they thought I didn't have that much power, or something like that, because there were so many translatable words (there weren't many more than where I became manager)! The admin (the only one in the forum with this title, probably the manager) gave me these rights personally!

"Why don't you go to this admin and tell him?" you might say, which I actually did! But did I get any understanding? Well, actually, he hasn't even responded since this incident, not even today, and he's in the forum every 3-7 days at the latest (you'll see when you receive new PMs or messages in these)

You seriously think that's it? HAAHAHAHA! Of course the crown is still missing! Immediately after this incident I was told, after another request for comment, that I had only been removed because they had switched to the Enterprise version of Crowdin and changed the translation model! How is this new model supposed to work? Quite simply, you continue to make translations, but they no longer have to be checked by hand... Sounds good? WRONG! Because every translation of cheat names and descriptions now needs 5 upvotes to be officially included in the app! In other words, you HAVE to hope in the blue that EVENTUALLY SOMEDAY these 5 upvotes will come, which, as already indicated, is not guaranteed! Sure, it could be tomorrow, but it could be literally 2 years from now! Or never! And then we have wrong translations, with 5 or even more upvotes, which can be overwritten if other translations have at least as many or more upvotes, but as I said... Even getting 5 upvotes is a world art!

By the way, this was done with the statement that they only wanted to relieve us proofreaders! Funny, because we were not relieved but REPLACED! Which is quite a difference! So instead of people like me, who are proofreaders or even higher, being able to peacefully correct and let others' work through directly, we now HAVE to wait until EVENTUALLY our translations with at least 5 upvotes finally appear in the app, while the wrong ones are still there because they haven't been deleted and overwritten (I haven't even been a proofreader since then, as you can probably guess)

By the way, even Crowdin employees confirmed that the above model doesn't even exist... Interesting...

So THAT, folks, was the WeMod scandal! So believe me when I say that even Discord, or even Microsoft and co are more competent than them!

I registered there in 2016, after all these years without any incidents a review of mine about DHL is simply deleted! That in itself would still be bearable, if it was only the only one of my reviews that was deleted... No, ALL of them were removed! In addition, an account suspension was also posted... A little later I created a new account, which was blocked 2 days later too!

So I can say, PI** OFF with your sh*** platform! I've been through a lot, but this...

Incidentally, after saying I was leaving the platform, I was just told to send proof of the authenticity of my rating when I wanted! One see, they are not interested in the well-being of their users!
