I've been on the site for several years now, and it's been nothing but a happy helpful experience. The reviewer mentions scammers, but that's why there is a rating system for people after you visit their town. If they do something bad you leave a bad review and if necessary you report the situation to the admins. If you're concerned about getting scammed, only go after people who have high ratings. You don't go on a witch hunt and complain on the forum for all to see. This is something that is clearly against the guidelines. If someone happened to be lying then people would be going after the "scammer" for no reason. This is forum etiquette 101.

Also, as pertaining to the lightsaber thing... I'm just going to call bull$#*!. If it actually pertained to Star Wars, they wouldn't have been banned and could have appealed if they were.
If you google "animalcrossingcommunity star wars lightsaber" you will find an archived (due to age) sticky in which people are discussing Star Wars and they mention lightsabers many times. So again, I'm going to call bull$#*!.

As for the bans, well the site has clear rules and guidelines. You don't have to join if you don't agree with them and you can leave if they add rules that you don't like. It's not like Youtube where there's only one platform and nowhere else can you really get what the forum has to offer. You can find $#*! like this site everywhere.

Really it just sounds like someone butthurt that they got banned.
