In the month of June 2022 I purchased a mid century modern desk for my home. It was very sleek in design and actually looked like an expensive piece of furniture. I was excited to finally after months of searching find this piece.
I am a novice in regard to assembly of furniture, but I do have common knowledge in this field.
The desk, Model RTA-1854 is a very complicated assembly process. I worked for 12+ hours the first day. The assembly is 22 steps.
After 40+ hours of assembly and reaching step 22 the final task is to close the front drawer. The drawer closed like a vault due to oversized bumpers the drawer rails had.
I will add that the desk does not look like a desk at all. There are 3 hidden drawers in the desk. 2 drawers open horizontally and then there is the front middle drawer. It provides enough space for daily desk supplies.
I was heartbroken after completing the desk "perfectly" I will add to find I could not open the front middle drawer.
I notified the company I purchased the desk from who was willing minus questions to accept the desk back and minus dismantling the desk.
I also brought to their attention that the desk could be a risk to children who could receive a hand crush injury if they saw Mom or Dad open the side drawers. It would be like a toy for a curious child.
My search for a desk began again.
However, after about a week or 2 into the search I considered purchasing silicone spray lubricant to insure the drawer rails were adequately lubed prior to adding the rails to the desk.
So I ordered the same desk again, but this time prepared to make certain the rails were adequately lubed.
The desk arrived again. The first day of assembly I encountered a problem with the base connecting to the desk bottom. This is where the drawers must attach to.
The desk top was not drilled properly. It was approximately a 1/4 inch off. The bolts could not feed into the hardware embedded in the desk bottom.
I notified TechniMobili wanting a replacement part. They flatly refused to issue me a new part.
They demanded a video of the problem. How would I video inside a dark hole the fact that no connecting part was there? The desk bottom would cover up the intended connecting hole.
I then began to measure this piece to see if the next steps were lined up. They were not. They were off 1/8 inch. So the drawers would protrude. This was not the design of the desk.
After discovering the next misaligned section I began to disassemble the desk and prepare it for return.
It is not my place to retro-fit a computer-generated piece of furniture.
I also spoke to a furniture assembler who wanted $30.00 per hour. He stated all new hardware would need to be purchased. He also stated there was no guarantee his efforts would result in an assembled desk. He stated that when discrepancies are found in measurements of an item this results in him having to correct all the misalignments.
He also estimated it could take him 20+ hours or more of time to assemble the desk.
The company does not want the customer submitting a review on Amazon as example. This would ruin their business of course.
I did my initial homework in checking reviews for the desk on various sites. Individuals found the assembly tedious, but still loved the desk after their hard work.
So my advice to any one considering this desk is to avoid it at all costs.
All total I spent over 65 hours of time assembling one desk to completion; getting the second desk 1/6 complete; plus my time to carefully wrap the second desk for removal.
If we as consumers stop doing business with companies like this it may teach them a lesson.
The fact that the customer support department encouraged a return versus sending me a new part is unheard of.
I also spent additional funds on extra supplies here--wood glue to glue specific parts of the desk; threadlock glue to insure each bolt held; silicone spray; plus mailing tape and plastic sheeting to return the second desk. These items alone cost me over $65.00.
So my quest to find a desk begins again.
Unless you are a seasoned woodworker avoid any TechniMobili item; especially this model desk.
We as consumers have rights. Sometimes it may mean forfeiting on an item we desire.
Thank You

Optum Rx promises they will use any courier necessary to deliver an Rx on time.

My saga is very complicated...

Unbeknownst to me my former pharmacy had been filling my prescriptions despite not being an active customer any longer after I transferred my prescriptions to Optum Rx.

This of course caused an issue in getting my refills on auto refill with Optum Rx filled at all.

Optum of course thought I had received my needed prescriptions.

A pharmacy only needs to check the insurance billing to see if a prescription has in fact been filled and received by the customer.

I do not use multiple pharmacies at one time.

A refill was needed prior to May 14,2022.

May 14,2022 came and went minus receiving my refill that also had ample refills to use by 2023.

My call to Optum Rx triggered any movement from them. They stated I had received by refill from a local pharmacy.

I asked them to check the insurance billing for the prescription which of course illustrated I had not received any refill.

I waited 2 more days. No shipment was coming from Optum Rx. More calls to Optum Rx. Finally on May 20,2022 a refill request was put in their system and promised for delivery via Next Day Air or on May 21,2022.

Again no delivery arrived.

On May 23,2022 additional messaging and calling Optum Rx occurred. I was told my prescription would arrive on May 24,2022.

No delivery arrived.

I had text alerts from UPS stating a shipment from "HDP" or home delivery pharmacy was in route to Taiwan. An investigation was opened by UPS Worldwide. UPS did not know how the shipment got shipped to Taiwan nor did they know how to get the shipment back to the United States.

It is now May 29,2022. The shipment from Optum Rx will be returned to them at my request according to UPS on May 31,2022.

The shipment has been on a very long journey going from CA to Taiwan to KY to AK and is now being returned to CA.

This has caused me to go on "loaner" refills from my original pharmacy I left in January 2022 because they no longer offered home delivery. They now have home delivery again.

Please understand that on prescription bottles from Optum RX it states the date a prescription is filled. It also states when said prescription can be refilled--in my case the date was April 18,2022.

Optum RX immediately after a delivery begins to bill the insurance for the next refill months in advance.

If you are an individual that desires to phone a pharmacy for every refill then roll dice and use Optum Rx.
If you are an individual who wants prescription refills done on auto refill then do not use Optum Rx.

CVS Pharmacy is a very dependable pharmacy to use.

Returning back to your original pharmacy is not an easy situation. I have had to FAX letters to all my physicians explaining my situation with Optum Rx and why I am requesting they return my prescriptions back to CVS Pharmacy.

This of course involves a physician's office time to do this. It is a nuisance.

Optum Rx tried to solely blame UPS.

I have yet to receive an apology from Optum Rx.

Of course UPS does not know what is inside the package. In my correspondence to UPS I could not disclose that they had medication inside the package.

If you have a dependable pharmacy you are using then by all means stay with them. Optum Rx is just not a dependable pharmacy to use if you desire your prescriptions on time.

Tip for consumers:
If you are changing pharmacies do not deactivate the account with the original pharmacy.

You may need the original pharmacy to provide "loaner" medication to you if Optum Rx fails.

9/27/21

English Elm is a backorder furniture company that sells items as if they are in stock ready for delivery.
I placed an order for 2 Remark Gray Chairs on 4/23/21. Total $842.50.
Immediately after the order went through I was emailed my items were on backorder til August or September 2021.
9/23/21 I received one chair out of two.
The company expects me to wait til August or September 2022 for the second chair.
I WILL NOT.
It has taken me since 9/23/21 to receive half credit back on money the company had since 4/23/21.
Now I have the chair received to return back to them. I paid $75.00 to prepare the chair for pickup by a promised warehouse truck.
They have emailed me a Fed Ex label to arrange my own pickup.
Real customer service.
Called self-service.
I should not have to arrange the pickup.
English Elm should be shut down.
Please save yourself time; money; and your health dealing with them.
No consumer deserves to be treated this way.
I have no photo to upload because the single chair is in a box.
Prepare to involve your bank; spend hours to expose them; plus the hours invested in emailing them.
They just do not get it.
But they grab your money...
Keep your money...
After a battle you might get back part a refund like me... but plan on ongoing battles to get your total refund.
I requested a warehouse pickup to insure the safe return of the chair.
Placing the chair in the custody of Fed Ex is a risk.
I have great sympathy for others that have been burned by them.
Consumers that just wanted the items ordered.
This has just about cost me my health too.

Tip for consumers:
Do not purchase from them.
