USPS Case Confirmation For Service Request *******

On April 3,2024, I filed a request for a Change-of-Address. I received an email the next day. On April 5, I received an email saying that the request was processed. However, after that, on April 7, a day before the date on which I was going to move to the new address, USPS sends me an email that states "Your Change-of-Address has not been submitted!" (their punctuation). The next day on which I relocated, I receive again an identical notice saying "Your Change-of-Address has not been submitted!" That made no sense at all, so I figured there was some technical glitch.
The next day, USPS sends me another email saying "ACTION: Complete Your Informed Delivery Enrollment," totally ignoring what I had programmed on my request that I am seeing now becane a ghost. I received three emails on April 10 saying "we have temporarily SUSPENDED your access to your Informed Delivery® features," so in effect, I was punished for having made a request for a Change-of-Address! Then I received a telephone call from a woman who said I needed to come into the post office to submit identification because some law had been passed in 2023 requiring that to make sure that I was no spammer. One logical question, something the US government would never think of: if that is a law and it was a requirement, why is it not mentioned anywhere on usps.com where I filed the request for Change-of-Address? Apparently, my thinking is still much too logical and maybe too outdated, but if it was a law as she said, I don't understand why the website doesn't even give a hint about the requirement!

I was getting impatient with what looked to me like a free-for-all that USPS was pulling, so I filed a complaint that generated an email labelled "USPS Case Confirmation For Service Request *******" that solved nothing, of course. I was directed to their Frequenty Asked Questions page -- what they apparently classify as "customer service." Everything that follows is not important because it's obvious that madness is the operative element. However, there was a redeeming quality today, April 16,2024: I received a telephone call, again from the post office in Washington, DC, informing me that she was sending to me all my accumulated mail. My question is: will I really get everything, or is another disaster about to happen? I have lost all faith in USPS and I doubt anything will ever restore it to what it was before.

Tip for consumers:
Just be aware that taxpayer money supports this total madness and inefficiency and never trust any government website to post all the requirements because if you don't, you'll be shocked at how severely you'll be punished for thinking that there is a requirement that the government institution neglected to post! If it's a law that was passed, don't expect the institution to be responsible and make it known; otherwise, you'll be breaking the law!

Today I had a conversation with Microsoft in the morning because I am transferring my activities from one laptop to a newer one. Every time I tried to use any Microsoft application, a popup blocked me and demanded payment.

I had paid on my previous laptop, so when I talked with the agent earlier in the day, the agent somehow checked my account, saw that I had paid, and enabled access for me. However, in the evening on the same day, Again, I was being blocked from Microsoft software and again I was facing demands to pay. I saw that in the evening, I was unable to open anything connected with Microsoft, so I asked to speak to Customer Service. That was my downfall.

The agent who allegedly was there to serve me spoke so faintly that I wasn't sure which language he was speaking. When I asked him to speak louder, I then discovered that his English was barely recognizable as the same language that I speak. He asked me several questions that did not solve my problem. I told him that I had paid for service on my previous laptop.

He then said he would check my account, but when he asked for my name, he was writing an incorrect spelling of the name. I corrected him, and he hung up on me! The end result is that I now cannot access any application connected in any way with Microsoft!
If Microsoft just wants to demand money every time I try to access Microsoft software, that's extortion. I bought the software and paid with money.

I paid for the personal subscription to various software services with Microsoft. However, if a morning conversation about arranging access for me, a paying customer, is rendered invalid if I call later in the day, I give up. I truly cannot understand the backwards logic in that. Maybe Microsoft just likes to grab money at every opportunity; it does look that way.

It seems that with Microsoft, you pay more and get less. I truly give up.

I am sure it's not legal to do that, but as I have learned, laws in the United States exist only for persons who are wealthy enough to pay to make sure they are enforced. That definitely applies in this case.

Tip for consumers:
I'm just in a state of shock to see that this sort of thing is the rule, not the exception, in the United States today. I frequently wonder if I was indeed brought to the United States when I returned in 1998 or if I was taken to some Third World country in which several people know English but the majority of people don't begin to understand it. I feel I now live in a VERY foreign country!

I wanted to use Microsoft Word, but I was blocked from using it unless I would pay ransom.

From the day that Trump appointed Louis DeJoy to be Postmaster General, the US Postal Service has been a shambles. I have had several items sent to me via USPS that I never received even though the senders confirmed that they had sent them. The idea was that if the USPS no longer functioned, Trump would stand a greater chance of being reelected. We see how that turned out; all he left from his four years in office has been damages. If someone is sending me something of critical importance, I instruct them to use any alternative service if they really want me to receive it. Today makes just one more day of mail pieces that have not arrived despite the report over Informed Delivery that they would arrive. I wonder if the US will ever recover from the damages of those four years and from the utter shame of having had such a creature in the country's top office!

Tip for consumers:
If you have to use USPS, good luck; you're definitely going to need it!

I have never seen such confusion about a simple order before. It's almost a month since I ordered an item and have received emails that the item was shipped, only I never received it. Now they are saying that I can't return the item because I don't have the original packaging! I NEVER RECEIVED THE ITEM!
