Five months ago, we made an online purchase of a "giant archive" collection of old-time radio shows from Bookzap.com AKA Old Time Radio Shows and Books. Upon receiving our order, we found that 11 of the 128 DVDs were defective. Per their policy, we paid to return the discs to obtain replacements. There was no response, and upon following up, we were told that they had never received our package. We provided the UPS code and the company then stated that a neighbor had received our package but not notified them. Replacement DVDs were issued but strangely, they were duplicates of the DVDs still in our possession. The company again stated they would provide us with the 11 replacement DVDs. Upon doing so, they only provided 8 of the 11 DVDs. We inquired about the 3 missing discs. The company again agreed to send out the remaining DVDs. This time, 3 DVDs were sent, but one of the DVDs did not belong to the collection, and a second contained only half of the recordings that should have been included. We contacted them but received no response. After waiting 2 1/2 weeks, we again requested replacements for the final 2 DVDs. We also paid to return all of the defective discs to the company so that they could verify what we had told them. We did express frustration with their quality control (no profanity or personal attacks), but instead of an apology, we received a lengthy and blistering diatribe about how we were angering and ungrateful customers for all the effort that they had put out on our behalf. We still do not have the remaining DVDs for the collection we purchased. The quality of the recordings is satisfactory, but we have since discovered that many of the DVDs contain duplicate material, thus providing far less content than indicated. In addition, some of the advertised content was simply not included. Repeated efforts to secure this missing material were fruitless. Our efforts to resolve these issues were made all the more difficult by the company's refusal to provide a phone number when requested. Beware.
