I'm a researcher and was looking for some evaluation board /kits. I happened to order some from Digilent, Mouser, and digikey using the same credit cards. The transactions went through with digilent(about$300) and mouser( about$50). Digikey credit card department declined the transaction and asked for a copy of driving ID or personal check cancelled copy before they could approve a transaction for about $32. They acknowledged it's not from the credit card company, it's from their random selection of the customers to demand for additional paperwork. The credit card department representative was quite arrogant.
I could afford to pay double or triple the price than that from digikey, but would never like to expose myself to this low level service / attitude / demands. I would never do or recommend doing business with digikey.
