Hi, I usually spout haterade and leave scathing reviews for awful businesses.

But, not today.

Today, I was freaking AMAZED. **Ahh-mazed** at the QUALITY of my party linens. I'm using them as part of my everyday princess tea party fantasy/photo booth kitchen set-up (because I'm a grown-$#*! woman during COVID so why not?) And for even every day service, these are AWESOME for the price. And I am pretty cheap and I don't want to spend more. So I am SUPER pleased with the VALUE.

To protect my tabletop investment I got a cheap clear vinyl tablecloth from Amazon.

These party linens are WAAAAAAAAAY better than "Amazon quality."

  • Booking.com

7/10/17

I started using Booking.com and Hotwire exclusively to book US accomodations. Booking.com consistently has the lowest prices for named hotels and Hotwire sometimes beats it with their secret deals.

One advantage to Booking.com is you can hold reservations without paying anything. Bookong also has a generous cancellation policy tjat other sites didnt have.

I took off a star because Booking does inflate their hotel scores and manipulate reviews to make places sound better. I have booked some questionable holes due to their recommendations.

Overall though a reliable hotel bookong site.

  • Postmates

Because my experience was awesome! The app is super convenient and easy to use. There is guidance given in the app so you can start using it right away.

I had a personal shopping request which is harder and more time-consuming for Postmates shoppers to do. I had to hand-write my list and explain exactly what I wanted.

The Postmates driver I got, Alba in Silicon Valley, was awesome!

Super fast and got EVERYTHING RIGHT! She not only made the Postmates ETA she had a smile on her face when she arrived.

That has been my 1 and only experience so far. I will definitely try them again. The price was fair considering it was a personal shopping request.

  • MooseJaw

6/15/17

I'm a big fan of Moosejaw as it's a great mix of responsible retail, fun e-commerce, and fair prices for quality products. I would hate to see the Walmarts of the world destroy great stores like MooseJaw. Demand quality, not crap.

If you are a lover of the outdoors you should definitely check them out. Major brands are available and you get points for purchases. Often have deals running.

  • Zulily

6/15/17

The unusually low rating for Zulily must be another case of "you get what you pay for" and "people who don't know how to internet"

Zulily itself is a giant dropshipping site. They use a mix of limited time flash sales and the harder to navigate permanent online bazaar of stuff (while supplies last) to sell wares.

You will often have to wait week several weeks until Zulily receives enough orders ship yours to you.

I have literally spent hours scouring their site using their user unfriendly "search" function to find amazingly discounted and very cute children's clothing. If you don't mind digging or checking back often you can score great deals.

Zulily started out as a mom and kid's site but has expanded. There are some really random finds if you care to look.

The prices and quality/brands of good is generally very good as long as you don't mind indefinite shipping waits. If you need something right away, this isn't for you.

  • Wish

6/15/17

I used to be a power shopper at Wish and bought many items from many different sellers. At first I was a fan of the novelty. Then I bought a hair dryer that exploded. I'm lucky the explosion wasn't worse than it was. Wish is an extremely unregulated and dangerous market place. Be careful.

  • CouponCabin

I've been a member of Ebates and MrRebates for years (also Fat Wallet but transferred money owed to Ebates). Ebates and MrRebates have been easy to use and I've saved hundreds over the years. They also have mobile apps.

Coupon Cabin promises some great cash back promos but it is a pain to use.

1) NOT mobile compatible, you MUST use desktop
2) Lots of rules to make sure transaction posts correctly ex: 1 hour timelimit, can't have any items in cart before clicking on link etc.

All the fine print and gimmicky cash back promises not found on similar sites made me think Coupon Cabin might be a scam. Am surprised to find so many positive reviews here.

I've already earned some pending cash back from CC but will probably stick with Ebates and MrRebates because those are much easier and faster to use.

  • RepublicWireless

6/15/17

Great concept but in reality you're getting crap phones to use Verizon network (or some other major carrier whose name I forget).

The phones have no sim cards so are locked to Republic and have very low resale value.

The phones are laughably old and outdated. Forget having a smartphone. The cell service is just good enough for casual phone calls. Only use for business if you love losing money and having clients badmouth you.

Support is "crowd-sourced" meaning there is very very very little in way of direct support or even employees to talk to. You'll have to rely on outdated user forums to search fixes to issues.

My phone would stop randomly working and voice mail wouldn't work.

A very obscure carrier with obscure directions.

But, the price is very good if you aren't obsessed with phones.

  • Doordash

6/15/17

Website is easy to usr and order went smoothly but I couldn't believe the final price.

All I wanted was a $12 entree and was stuck at home.

After minimum purchase requirement is met (or "too small order penalty") AND delivery fee AND service fee (?) AND mandatory 10% minimum tip (on the whole total after the extra fees are added) my total ballooned to $$THIRTY THREE$$ dollars.

$12 --> $33

I cannot fathom how enough people are willing to pay 250% more just for delivery. It is far cheaper to pick up yourself or even order delivery from traditional pizza or Chinese joints.

Who uses this service regularly?

If youve suffered a debilitating injury and are housebound this is at least an option not to starve.

Otherwise WAAAAAYYY too freaking expensive to recommend.

  • Crunchyroll

6/15/17

Do NOT pay for a membership here! They will put you on autopsy even after it ends. Customer service seems like the site owner's family and is very slow.

CrunchyRoll started out charging people for subtitled animation that had NO licenses in the US and that had been subtitled BY FREE by fans and that could be found for free elsewhere. Crunchyroll had absolutely no business profiting for this.

Crunchyroll is a great service IN THEORY but in practice stick to YouTube, NetFlix or watch for free and mute the commercials.

  • QuiBids

6/15/17

I can't believe people win auctions. The auctions are rigged the way Vegas is rigged to keep you hooked on LOSING.

The auctions artifically lower the seeming cost of items (ex. $3 to buy a 1 cent bid) and every bid extends the cost of the auction. Items you "win for $5" really cost $15 to win etc.

Most people lose and have sunk too much $$ into losing bids. QuiBids then generously gives people in the hole a chance to buy the auction item at full price. Since you've already lost X dollars in bids that you'll never get back, it's mentally easier to pay some more to get the item.

It seems now QuiBids is auto charing users as soon as you sign up. This is probably to give gamblers that desperate mindset to "win back" the money lost or discourage users from leaving.

If you want to use QuiBids stick to EBay. It's another terrible site but at least costs are upfront and if you lose an auction you pay nothing.

  • eBay

6/15/17

This site was created by more greedy megalomaniacs and did not have the best interests of either buyers or sellers at heart.

I have spent a lot of money and HUNDREDS of transactions on EBay. I was even a VIP Member with access to a special expedited 800 help line.

I no longer use EBay and hope PayPal doesn't suck the way EBAY did and does.

The downsides of EBAY are that many traditional sellers are either dumb-dumbs and/or working full time jobs elsewhere. Many are dishonest or just uneducated and do not pay a lot of attention to their storefronts. Youre basically going to a garage sale and rummaging through hoping for a bargain basement deal while getting terrible service.

The best sellers on ebay used to be overseas (mostly Chinese) merchants who were legit full-time businesses. Those sellers can now be found on other wesbites.

EBAY has lost its original purpose and now has terrible partnerships with big name brands. It doesn't work as a straight retail or discount site because the thrill of cheap finds and winning auctions is now gone AND the non-negotiable "buy it now" prices can't compete with other discount retailers like TJ Maxx, Burlington, Amazon or even Target.

The deals are much harder to find.

Goodbye Ebay!

  • Sitejabber

Welcome to the Inception of reviews. I'm giving this website 2 stars. A quick review of reviews makes it clear at least 1/2 of the main users don't know how to Internet. That makes most of the reviews miscategorized (reviewing a pair of socks bought on Amazon instead of Amazon itself) and totally, if hilariously, useless.

  • Amazon

6/15/17

I had a simple and unpleasant act of theft turn into a unnecessarily frustrating ordeal all thanks to Amazon. They're support us understaffed and under trained and there are no proper protocols, policy or supervision in place to protect consumers.

Long story short, instead of immediately refunding me for a fraudulent charge they FROZE it. Meaning the money was still debited from my bank account even though the item was NEVER shipped out. Amazon failed to take proper notes of my case and gave me the run around. 3 weeks later my bank reversed the charge and said from beginning Amazon should have simply refunded me.

This is online commerce 101 and also common sense. Their incompetence and greed caused me many sleepless nights and hours and hours on the phone with different entities.

Amazon.com is run by greedy megalomaniacal idiots who under pay sweatshop labor that offer 0 real assistance when you need it.

  • SHEIN

6/12/17

I think the quality and price point of this site is a nice in-between and step up from total clearance and budget sites. It has an interesting range of styles you don't find at lower price points. However, still suffers from execution of design. What you get is about 90% what you see on the website 90% of the time. Maybe 80%. If that's good enough for you for the price, give it a try. I do like the designs.

  • Thumbtack

6/12/17

I tried Thumbtack in good faith after many positive experiences on Task Rabbit. Thumbtack ALLEGEDLY is for professionals and clients to meet while TaskRabbit is more for side-job giggers to do non-specialized work.

Long story short -- THIS WEBSITE IS A JOKE! CONSUMERS SHOULD STAY AWAY!

First red flag should've been the overly simple design of website and app. There are NO directions or tutorials on how to use and hire Pros.

I ended up getting ripped off by a "Pro" who doesn't read (all communication on site is typed). Thumbtack does JACK SQUAT to protect you or your money.

Thumbtack is nothing more than glorified Facebook Messenger. It is a 3rd party messaging app with NO protocols, NO standards, NO guarantees, NO integrity.

It's extremely dangerous and foolish to use Thumbtack because you will become a scam victim and have ZERO help or assistance from this low-quality app.

I'm guessing Thumbtack will go bankrupt soon. The only staff they hire seems to be very cheap labor overseas for "customer support" to chat with you online and say a whole lot of nothing.

ONLY USE THUMBTACK IF YOU LIKE GETTING SCAMMED AND GETTING THE RUN AROUND.

  • xFinity

6/10/17

Enough said.

Xfinity is alright but my god they gouge you with the prices and they are always having technical difficulties, broken equipment, connection issues that remain unsolved.

With how fast technology is moving I can't wait for more tv/internet providers to pop up and disrupt Comcast out of business.

PS Verizon FIOS is WAAAAAY better to Xfinity

  • LivingSocial

6/10/17

If you buy a voucher from here you may as well have tossed that cash out the window of a moving car.

This company spends too much money on advertising and not enough for basic staff. Businesses don't seem to understand how to create deals.

When you call Living Social for help because a business is refusing to honor the voucher you get ZERO helo. Definitely no refund or even a credit.

After being burned 2x I have never returned to the site.

Many voucher sites have come and gone exactly because they couldn't get businesses to honor vouchers and did not protect their consumers. Living Social will probaby dissappear too.

Groupon is WAY better for finding deals and you are at least protected as the customer.

  • Anthem

6/10/17

It keeps telling me to call a person M-F. It is now Saturday. Enough said. Their app is even worse garbage. How can these people make SO MUCH MONEY and yet fail to create a basic functioning website?

  • Restaurant.com

6/9/17

Great in concept.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE in execution.

I received a promo to basically get a Restaurant.com certificate for free. Too bad I can't use it! The website is stuck in the early 90s and the app is garbage. I've been trying for weeks to access to Restaurant.com to retrieve my certificate but it will NOT let me. The log-in screen freezes.

Hilarious that the app has a banner ad for... THE APP YOU'RE ALREADY USING?

I would NEVER spend my own money on this.
