AARP and New York Life Insurance. I received a Member Enrollment form for Life insurance. I was apprehensive about filling information out and sending in. I received a denial letter with the reason. I then contacted the third party Milliman IntelliScript for "The Report". The report listed every medication I've taken the last 7 yrs! The report did not specifically state which medication. I then contacted AARP Life Insurance Program
New York Life Insurance to find out the specifics on which medication. I left a message and was told someone would contact me. Well according to AARP I received my "one and only call". I missed that call so I called again. Each representative I spoke to said that Underwriting wasn't available but to leave a message. I've called numerous times over the last 4 weeks without a return call. Not once did the Life Insurance representatives ask if I would like to contact a Supervisor. Only when I stated I was going to call AARP and post a couple reviews did the last representative seek out a supervisor in the Underwriting department. The supervisor was able to give me the specifics and asked if I would like to submit an appeal. I stated " after how this wasn't handled and not being able to actually speak with a representative. I will take my business elsewhere. Both companies need a lot of training concerning customer service. AARP representative was making excuses for how I was treated. I am now reading a lot of negative reviews about both Companies online. I should have research further to avoid this unnecessary headache!
