We do our best to auction off as many auctions possible for the customers and schedule these accordingly to how many people are visiting the site. On average we have over 1,000 auctions every day. However, I can understand it may seem like there is not much and this is because all the auctions are No Jumper auctions. This means that after the price goes above a certain price like $5, no more bidders are allowed to enter that auction – only the people who bid in the auction from the beginning. Due to this feature it limits the number of auctions people can bid on when they visit the site.
The tradeoffs would be:
1. Have more auctions at the same time available for everyone.
2. Make auctions easier to win by closing them to the original bidders.
In an attempt to try and make auctions easier to win for customers we’ve gone with the second option and we’ve noticed a big difference with 40% less bidders.
Rich, what could we do to help improve your experience and rating of our service?
Sincerely,
David
