Please be advised that if you are shopping for homeowners' insurance and Great Florida Insurance is presented to you...stay as far away as possible! Great Florida will broker your coverage with another broker (Swyfft, LLC) or another unqualified poorly rated provider, and you can rest assured that your premium will more than double over the next 1-2 years. Dig deep into their policies and you will discover a clause entitled "Minimum Earned Premium Endorsement" which gives Swyfft the shady but legal right to keep up to 75% of your annual premium should you try and cancel their policy. The minimum earned premium is supposed to be used for cancellation of "Business Insurance", but Swyfft has decided that homeowners can be scammed as well. From the Thimble Business Insurance website, "the minimum earned premium comes into play if you decide to cancel your business insurance policy before the term is up."
Take it from a victim, they will keep your money even if you cancel less that one month into the coverage period! Don't walk but run away from Swyfft, LLC as there are a few reputable insurance companies out there! Affiliated with a couple of 1.5-star Google rated companies, Topa Insurance and Clear Blue Insurance. Steer clear of these underperforming companies as well.
Here is the clause in the Swyfft Policy that states they have the right to keep 50% of your premium should you decide that their policy is of poor coverage or far too expensive
B. If the policy is canceled at the request of the (first) Named Insured:
I. If the policy has been in effect any time during the period of June 1 to and including
November 30, the premium charged shall be subject to a Minimum Earned Premium of
50% of the gross annual premium (including any additional premiums added by
Endorsement). This Minimum Earned Premium is the least amount of premium we shall
Retain as earned premium regardless of term.
Remember these two names, Great Florida Insurance/Aspen, LLC and Swyfft Insurance. They are not interested in providing you with good coverage at a reasonable price. Just looking for a commission! They kept $1647.00 of my premium for canceling their cut-rate policy!
