Sadly, I did not do my research before purchasing. Based on the Mapleleafsteamshop website's descriptions and photos I believed I was ordering an authentic Adidas NHL replica jersey. I submitted my online order for a Toronto Maple Leafs (Gilmour #93) jersey and payment of $200.55 CDN was processed to my MasterCard via PayPal International. I became suspicious and concerned when the company's email replies were partly in Chinese (?).
The product arrived, and my heart sank as I discovered it was nothing more than a low quality, shoddy copy of an Adidas product. The fraudulent item as received was clearly manufactured of inferior quality fabrics. The fine detailing was obviously nowhere near the standard of a genuine Adidas NHL replica jersey.
I reviewed the company's return polices on their website, indicating a full refund if not satisfied, with instructions to use the "included" return shipping label (there wasn't one). I followed the instructions on the company's website to process a return. I received a reply that to process a return for the product would be too cost prohibitive, due to international shipping and duties costs. I was offered a "store credit" in exchange for another of their products instead. It was suggested for me to try to re-sell the product myself to recover my (stolen) money. I emailed back to express my dissatisfaction, cited consumer protection laws, and requested they honour their return policies (which now appear to have been edited online since Christmas). I have not heard anything back since.
This product is cheap, crappy junk!
Maddening!
Stay away!
Don't waste your hard earned cash!
I would be more than happy to provide all information about my entire experience and provide this product for examination by any authorities or representatives from Adidas themselves who investigate and prosecute copyright infringement.
