I first used HireMyMom back in 2011 and got my first two clients as a Virtual Assistant using the site. I landed both clients after only two months using the site. I went on to use it to gain more clients after that. Thanks to the start I got using it, I was able to job in January of 2013 and only work as a Virtual Assistant. One thing I really loved is that most clients on there know you are a mom so you also have family duties, no having to explain to clients you don't work 24/7. I am so grateful I came across this site! I will say too, you must take time to write great proposals, that is why many VA's never hear from clients. They don't clearly address how they can help the client but rather talk about experience that doesn't apply.
Thank you Sara! We love hearing success stories like yours!
And great tip on addressing how you as the candidate can help the client and expressing that in your cover letter or proposal. We have several blogs on this too to help our members enhance their resume, cover letters and job hunting skills.
