In addition to the $14.95 per month, if I take the 30-day free offer, am I obliged to buy at least one book each month?

Hey Charles, this is Audible Social Support. With the Gold Monthly membership for $14.95 per month, you're able to roll over 6 book credits at a time so there's no rush to use them each month. If you need a break at any time, you have the option of placing your account on hold, or Hiatus, for up to 3 months where you're not billed, do not receive additional credits, but have full access to your stored credits, books, 30% discount, sales and Great Listen Guarantee. Hope this helps. Please let us know if there's anything else we can assist with. Take care.

No. They give you one free credit a month. It usually shows up on the second day of the month.

Hi Charles! If you don't mind, I'll add my opinion of Audible. To put it simply, I would stay away from it -- I read (actually listen to) many of books, however, some months go by where I am unable to due to an illness. The answer that "Audible Support" gave you seems a bit suspicious inn that of all the reviews posted here, that was never mentioned. They are very difficult to get in touch with about any problems concerning your account or billing. Jason H. Above (& others on this site) can attest to that, constantly having to change passwords, credit cards, etc., As I said, my opinion -- stay away from Audible even though their answer seemed very sincere and genuine -- I wouldn't take that as their "normal" business practice. If you try to do what the "Audible Rep" (No Name Provided) says they will do, what actual proof do you have. Unless -- Audible would send that to you in writing, or e-mail for you to keep, that language is not written into any of the documentation they provide about the service they offer. My reason for responding is because I have always been a "consumer advocate" & will continue to be even though many companies have tried to stop me. Wishing you all the best -- Hope this works out for you! Blessings!

I don't know how they do it these days. Better to call them an see what they say. But it used to be that you get a credit a month - and those can be stored. Though I don't know how many or for how long.
