Modernist Décor

Purchased a house number sign, beautiful powder coated, dark blue. We put it up on the house in November of 2020. In February of 2021 I noticed it was looking dirty, so out came the ladder to scrub it down. However, when I got up and close, it turns out dirt was not the issue. Instead it appears the powder coating has failed and the sign is turning black around all the cut surfaces. Attempted to contact Modernist about this via their website and customer service email address. I included photos of the problem, however two weeks later and I have received no response. How disappointing, as it seems resolving this would cost them very little and I would be writing a glowingly happy review.

UPDATE: Received an email from Modernist apologizing for the late response and offering to replace the sign free of charge. I am very pleased with their resolution. I will now raise my overall rating to three stars. Will raise it higher once I receive the replacement. Thank you, Modernist.

I am 100% sure this is a scam company. I paid almost $200 for a yard sign. When it was received, the sign measured 11 x 28 (length includes stakes) instead of 16 x 28. I notified the company about the error and was rudely told measurements may vary and it was "only 2 or 3 inches difference, like a credit card." I tried to explain that this 5" shortage results in 90 sq in of sign space. This sign is ridiculously small. I offered to return it at my cost and wait for the correct sign or return it for a refund at my cost. I've politely called 10 times and have emailed over 15 times. NO response. They offered to refund me $15! Now I am stuck with a $200 cheaply made useless sign.

I was initially quite pleased with my black house-number sign, but after about a year and a half, it had gotten badly rusted. This was clearly no surprise to them as they had a Frequently Asked Questions section devoted to this very issue. They instructed to e-mail with photos documenting the situation, which I did. The initial e-mail bounced back as being "too large," so I resent it deleting all but two photos and much text, but still clearly documenting the situation. This apparently did not bounce back, but I still received no reply. After 10 days with no response, I e-mailed again to inquire why I hadn't heard back, and I also repeated this query via their proprietary in-house messaging service (which allows for no photos...). To date, nearly a month later I have received zero response. Just infuriating, really, particularly inasmuch as they are clearly aware of the issue and purport to be willing to remedy it.

I have made several attempts to contact company to resolve my complaint. The best offer I got was to reorder with 50% discount. I don't want to spend more money to get what I ordered. I ordered an address sign, the size specified was 10x17. What I got was a sign 61/2x17. The response I got was sizes are approximate. However, I do not feel like this is a small variance. Its off by 40% on the height..

I don't know who this company is but they spam text multiple times every day and won't stop. Never bought from them, never will. Spam company
