Got cover for two tickets I got for a gig. My partner was then told she has to go into hospital the day before, So won't be able to attend. Made a claim uploaded the letter. Heard absolutely nothing. Complete scam of a company
The most annoying warranty company. The worst thing about them is you have to email them because they don't have any live reps. So the process for one thing can take weeks. I wish I knew this ahead of time. The gold foil to my wahl vanish damaged less than two weeks. I'm extremely disappointed because I actually like the item. But now I have to wait weeks just for a simple accessory part.

SCAM ALERT!
Please beware of this insurance look for anything else. After having horrible time with your lost baggage/possessions these people will make you jump through hoops to deny your claims based on "not providing listed information" which you do for months. Want to contact their support staff ha good luck. You'll have a higher chance of your father coming back after 30 years with milk. Please I never take time to write reviews but if you're taken a vacation wrapping the luggage and buying a lock and praying to anyone is better than this insurance.
I am disguisted why Ryanair cooperate with Xcover insurance. Xcover is definitely a scam, there is no possibility to contact with them (no phone number, no chat, only online form and automatic responses by bot). If you send them all documents for claim, they send emails that you didnt and close your claim. Even if everything is clear and as they requested. This company is somewhere in Australia, they do not have teams understanding another languages. Do not buy insurance from xcover. There is thousands of negative comments.
It does really seem to be a scam, not a real insurance provider.
We claimed 2 things:
1) necessary costs for the delayed luggage, doing everything in accordance with the policy wording. They declined the claim, referring to an exemption that is...simply non existing. The email said that baggage delay is not covered for a return trip, but this is written nowhere in the provided documents. So they either are lying and not wanting to reimburse us, or they hid some documents from us - which is lying, again.
2) Broken electronics during the trip - we claimed on 22.11, today we have 7.12 and nothing. No communication, no claim paid, total silence and avoidance.
Overall: a nightmare, automated emails that don't answer any of the questions, lengthy process, lies about non existing exemptions. You are safer with any other provider.
Xcover sells the coverage for traveling trip interruption through Traveluro. When the trip is interrupted for a serious reason they are asking for the documents which are impossible to get, the hotel would not give you those documents, they would only talk to Traveluro,, Traveluro is not answering the phone calls nor the emails and Xcover is located in Australia and keep asking by text nonsense. It is well designed conspiracy to defraud customers., pure fraud!
This is not a real insurance company, it is a SCAM! They keep on asking documents again and again, and after you have provided them many times, they just keep asking them again. Bought this insurance through Ryanair, and will tell all the people not to do the same error. My daughter almost died in the hospital during our travel and this insurance company does not want to reimburse our flights which we missed because of her hospitalisation. Disgusting and cruel.
Impossible to complete a claim; impossible to contact; help center sends nonsensical automated responses that are of no use. Stay away from this scam!
Worst insurance experience ever, scam, run away! When I booked my vacation for the summer of 2023 with Booking, I was offered Xcover travel insurance which protects, among other things, my luggage in case of loss or delay. My luggage arrived a week after me on vacation, which is covered by the Xcover policy (they reimburse the costs incurred by the delay, such as essential expenses for washing and dressing while waiting). It was a "simple" case, I sent all the necessary documents directly to Xcover, it was August 12,2023. Here we are on December 13 and it's still unresolved, impossible to reach a real person. All I get are automatic e-mails. I've contacted them by e-mail, at first they "replied" but since October I've just been receiving the same automatic e-mail asking me for the dates of the trip (which are the dates of the insurance policy, so they have them). I've sent them 5 emails, I've filled in my file online 3 times as well, all with supporting evidence, but to no avail, they send me back the same email with the same "dates of the trip" request. I've contacted the helpdesk 3 times and they tell me they'll get back to me as soon as possible, but I haven't heard from them since October either. I even replied to their sms, no answer. Knowing that there's no way of phoning them directly, I've done everything I could to contact them! Right now (December 13,2023) Xcover has the nerve to close my complaint, supposedly for lack of response on my part, even though I've sent them dozens of messages by e-mail, sms and via their platform! I'm furious and am in the process of lodging a complaint with a consumer association because this is not possible.
Sadly, changes in personal plans due to family commitments do not qualify. We submitted an explanation and all of the required documents, to find out the claim was denied. Don't waste your money.
This is a complete and utter SCAM!
AVOID buying that so-called insurance altogether.
After insisting that you buy this insurance, they apply conditions that they NEVER tell you at time of purchase.
The conditions that apply to get your money back are incredible.
Although in the application they place several options that, even so, are no valid to receive your money back.
I am not required to show proof of work, medical examination of myself and much less of my relatives, and much less proof of studies or personal plans including transfer of my job to have my money back.
"Booking Refund Protection" is a total scam. It does not in any way resemble similar kinds of "booking protection" you will encounter on virtually any other platform. The 'wording' of Xcover's booking refund policy essentially gives them total impunity to accept or reject your claim with no rationale. You'll need a DOCTORS NOTE to prove you were 'too sick to attend' and based on all the other 1-star reviews this bogus company receives here, even that is not enough. The message is clear: this is a criminal minded business that is designed to deceive and exploit you.
Avoid at all costs.
I took out travel insurance last September (2023) which I now totally regret as I had to make a (small) claim with them and there is NO customer service to speak of. They just ask you to submit documents, submit the same documents, submit those documents again, occasionally you get an automated email from them. I'm wondering now was it a scam, which is weird, as they are affiliated with Ryanair (i.e. I took out insurance with a flight I was booking for a work trip). Steer clear, they are appalling. I really regret not doing my due diligence before.
Tip for consumers:
XCover offer travel insurance via Ryanair (and other types of insurance to I think) - they are terrible - avoid like the plague. I wish I'd done my due diligence beforehand.
Xcover will ask you for the same documents over an over, like a receipt or proof of payment, or details of the contents of your lost bag, like every receipt to the last one. Once you dig into all that for days and submit every single receipt and bank statement requested, they will refund for your lost bag PEANUTS. Why? Because "depreciation" of your items inside, even if they were new gifts it happened to me)
God forbid you get sick abroad and have to pay out of your pocket for hospitalization (which happened to my parents), after you provide all the medical bills and payment receipts, they will ask you for "your own insurance explanation of benefits" without that the case will be closed (like they did), because it takes months to get that document from your own insurance, that's one, and second, why do they need that? YOU are paying for extra insurance, it is not free, you needed peace of mind, but with this scammers you won't have it, AVOID. Waste of time, and money. Worst company ever met in my life. There are no negative stars, but i am forced to give them one. SHAME!
SCAM ALERT! Please beware of this insurance and look for anything else. After having horrible time with our lost package, these people will make you jump through hoops to deny your claims based on "not providing listed information" which you do for months.
Never had such a bad experience with an insurance company.
They will not reimburse you. This is just a ploy to take your money. You have to jump through ridiculous hoops to get reimbursement and it's only if they feel like paying it.
I purchased an Apple Watch in November of 2023 and added the additional insurance, the watch was damaged in February 2024. I submitted a claim on February 15 2024 and it is still in submitted status. I have sent numerous emails and left numerous voice messages and no update, this by far is the worst customer service experience.
I paid for the optional extra insurance in case I could not attend an excursion. After contacting the company they asked for hospital documents which are impossible to aquire, ensuring they do not pay out under any circumstances. Contacted them twice to no avail, still requesting documents which cannot be attained.
I had a terrible experience with XCover insurance company, and I want to warn everyone about their abysmal customer service and handling of refund issues. I had purchased their insurance policy with reference 7VG7Y-ERP3I-INS through Booking.com for my trip to Barcelona, Spain. Unfortunately, on the night of February 7,2023, at 01:30, I became a victim of theft at Barcelona Airport, resulting in a loss of 5200 Euros worth of personal belongings.
Naturally, I reported this unfortunate incident to XCover, expecting them to provide the support and coverage promised by their policy. However, my experience with them has been nothing short of a nightmare. After waiting for over a month and a half, they finally got back to me with a refund offer of a measly 500 Euros for all the stolen items.
I immediately expressed my dissatisfaction with their proposed refund, as it was nowhere near adequate to cover the loss I had suffered. I tried to negotiate with them through numerous emails, pleading for a more reasonable compensation, but to my dismay, I received no response whatsoever. It's beyond frustrating that a company would completely ignore a customer who is seeking help and fairness.
What makes matters worse is the lack of direct communication options with XCover. They have no phone number for customers to call, and their support tickets go unanswered, leaving you with no real means of resolving issues or seeking assistance in a timely manner.
In light of this abhorrent experience, I strongly advise against booking travel insurance with XCover. They have shown a complete disregard for their customers' needs and concerns, leaving me with the impression that they are more interested in collecting premiums than actually providing meaningful coverage and support when it's needed the most. Steer clear of XCover, as you're likely to find yourself in a similar frustrating and fruitless situation if you ever have to make a claim.
Had to cancel trip due to my mother's cancer diagnosis. They would not refund my trip. Said they needed a "medical certificate issued and signed by a medical practitioner to support this claim". How ridiculous is that? These people have no souls. Absolutely reprehensible. Thank you for not believing the text message I forwarded to you from my mother revealing her cancer diagnosis. Outside of that, I proved to you my cancelled flight, but apparently that alone wasn't enough for you. It seems you are a requesting a signed document from her doctor, which in these circumstances, it so distasteful that I am questioning your humanity. Absolutely reprehensible! I really wonder at this point if you ever pay out claims at all. To anyone reading, I highly recommend never purchasing travel insurance in general, and especially not from this company who is the literal heart of darkness.
Quick enough to take your money, will find any excuse to not pay out if needed. Only contact is via email, which they use to ignore you and send automated messages.
Don't bother paying for this coverage because you won't get the fine print when you sign up. But once you need to use it you will find it almost impossible to be eligible.
In my opinion, x-cover operates like a scam.
I will try to explain my experience below.
Back in March 2023, I purchased flight tickets for my family in Kayak, and insured them through the default X-Cover service. My parents got covid prior to the return flight and therefore missed the flight.
X-Cover refused to reimburse the return flight, which is not the main reason for my concern with the business.
What worries me is that this refusal feels systematic and part of their effort to exhaust the customers from seeking their refund.
First, they refused to respond to my questions prior to making a claim. For example, I sent three emails in April, with the following title: "What is the process to cancel my flight?" to both *******@xcover.com and *******@xcover.com but they never responded.
Second, they make the process difficult. For example, in early June, they asked for "Proof of cancellation," which I immediately sent, however, again about a week later, they made the same request. For the second time, I sent the exact same document, and somehow this time it was OK. It seems that randomly rejecting documents is part of this systematic deterrence strategy.
Three, their required documents are not reasonable. For example, for COVID, they ask for A "doctor's note" or official clinically certified test results that include, name, date of test, certificate signature, recovery date, practitioner address, and a separate official signature or stamp. It is like asking for a note with purple ink on a pink paper. It just does not make sense. Such an exhaustive list is intended only to deter customers, and not to verify the validity of their claim. While most people do not visit doctors today for simple covid symptoms, we provided unofficial tests as well as COVID prescriptions in the name of the patients. Yet, they refused to process the claim.
Finally, while the company does not provide a phone number for contact, their email responses are always generic, copy-paste material, which further confirms my claim that they systematically ignore customers.
Should they ever respond to this review, I am certain it will be another generic copy-paste BS.
This is by far the worse insurance company ever. Claim submitted on 12 August keep getting automated emails not telephone number. Avoid at all costs. Seriously especially if medical. I have complainted to financial ombudsman
Terrible--They demanded a death certificate because I wanted to get my money back on a ticket because I wasn't up for going because my brother unexpectantly passed. The page that describes the insurance on the theatre website made it sound really easy to return my ticket/make a claim but that is NOT true at all! Their website actually wanted me to provide a death certificate for my brother--it was unrealistic, bizarre, (twilight zone demands), outrageous with impossible demands. My ticket for the play was only $38, and my insurance was only $2.66--I also tried to write them a letter and upload it to the spot where they demand proof of death (yep, they actually wanted that info), but it was so creepy because it could tell that I uploaded a letter and not a death certificate? MADE ME SICK. Tell everyone and I'm sorry for everyone that got ripped off.
Tip for consumers:
I will probably file a complaint with the Attorney General's office. Insurance companies are under strict rules and regulations and I am sure they cannot legally do this.
Products used:
I bought an insurance policy incase I could not attend a show. I tried to make a claim before the event, as my brother had passed away and I didn't feel like going just a few days after I purchased the ticket. I went on their website and they made really unreasonable and unrealistic demands in order to get my $38 money back. They demanded a death certificate and his homicide wasn't even done being investigated, so no one could get a copy of it. The website doesn't have a phone number or any way, that I could tell, to talk to anyone. It just stopped the claim process if I didn't come up with a death certificate. Really, really creepy.
I unexpectedly got laid off from my job so I couldn't attend an event. I filed a claim and they denied it. They stayed I need to have been there for 2 years. Kind of bull crap tbh. Other companies give a one year employememt requirememt. They denied my claim. Use Allianz if you have the choice. XCover is a scam. They make it suuuper hard to get reimbursed. Avoid at all costs.
