I ordered a Cosplay costume from the Simple Dress website and paid through Paypal with regular shipping. A woman from Simple Dress contacted me four days later and told me the dress out of stock and would I like to purchase another dress with a discount. I said no, could I please have a full refund. She informed me "OK, we will cancel the order and refund you in 3-5 days". A week later I had not recieved my money so I sent her an email asking when I would be paid, trying to find out what happened to my money. I got this message: "I just checked with accountant, the refund will be done in this week, thanks for your patience." When I asked for the exact date it would be processed she firstly said: "normally we handle refund you in 3-5 days, and the accountant told us the have paid for you last week, but have no idea why it was not successful. So we are chasing them to refund you again in 2 days". When I told her that no refund had gone through to my Paypal account, nor was it pending she said: "Hi, our accountant have refunded to you just now, pls check it later". That was five days ago.
I immediately put in a claim with Paypal and I am going to escalate the complaint. I have no idea why they had the costume on the site and it was not in stock - probably so you will order something else. The vendor has given me no reason for the slow payment and changed the story when I asked when I would be refunded. It is very easy to refund someone through Paypal but apparently too hard for their "accountant". It is a shame they are using financial organisations and Paypal who have to chase up these claims.
I wish there was some way we could stop this from happening to people because they are being blatantly lied to and ripped off.
Don't believe the five star feed back on this site at all.
