I was banned "forever" for "trolling" after posting a calm, fact-filled rebuttal on one of many ignorant fascist threads full of disinformation, hate, violent ideology etc. that this forum is overflowing with.

This site should be shut down and its owners held accountable. It is a large site and they are promoting Nazi rhetoric while shutting down truth and facts. This sort of thing is very dangerous to our democracy and should be investigated immediately.

I feel like you don't know a business until you've had a problem with them.

I was really annoyed because I ordered a glass bowl and it arrived totally shattered because it was packed so poorly.

But I'm still leaving a four star review because of how the issue was handled. I contacted them through their chat function and was promptly apologized to and given a refund without having to go through the hassle of returning the shattered item.

Therefore, in spite of the packing mishap, I will definitely continue giving them my business.

The arrogance and incompetence is off the charts here. After my issue is resolved, I will not be using this credit card or bank anymore.

Their online system for filing a credit card dispute is ridiculous. You can't simply type out your complaint and send your supporting documents. Instead, you have to use very limited checkboxes and explain the problem in only 150 characters (that is characters, not words). There is no way to include any supporting documentation.

So I called but after a long wait, the representative had only the same system to work with herself. I called two more times over the next few days because no details showed up and I had no idea what was going on.

Lots more waiting and being passed around. I had to repeat the same thing over and over and got the same result, which was- not much. Now must wait up to a MONTH for the credit card company to respond to BOA before I can give any more details about my case, assuming I am even given that chance at last. I also can not contact the credit card company (Visa) directly instead, I'm told. Was told I'd have to mail or fax supporting documentation, if they ever deigned to request it. Because, you know, it is 1972, after all... It's all just too nonsensical and exhausting, especially when it's on top of dealing with another ridiculous company already.

This is especially nasty since the original issue is that Costco.com delivered a shattered TV and repeatedly refuses to pick it up (going on 3 weeks now). They say they will come out repeatedly but never do and refuse to give me a time or date. They are holding my money in the meantime and say I will only get three chances for pickup. So for three entire weeks, we've had to had one of us get up and dressed early in case they deign to knock on the door, can't both go out alone if we need to leave the house, etc. We are sort of being held hostage and now we can expect 30 more days of this because our bank is just as arrogant and incompetent as Costco.

Bottom line, they really do all they can to encourage you to just go away. So I guess I will!

Tip for consumers:
I'd just avoid them. Who needs it.

If you enjoy being held hostage by arrogant incompetence, then Costco.com is the place for you!

Since we're at risk and practically homebound during the pandemic, we ordered a TV online from Costco. They were so concerned about this TV when it came to what they have to trouble THEMSELVES about that their chosen delivery service (UPS) just left it outside our door.

When we plugged it in, we discovered that the inside of the screen was shattered to smithereens- totally useless- like Costo.com itself, as it turns out!

We contacted Costco.com and received an email that they'd make their first pickup attempt within three days, that they'd only make three attempts, and that we'd get NO notification of what day or time they'd come to pick up the useless TV they sold us. Only after processing this would they refund our money.

Then the big winter storm hit and everything was out of commission for three days. Okay, we get that.

However, on day 11, still no one had showed up, so I called again. They then claimed they (or UPS) did make one pickup attempt, on Jan. 18 (day 5 after I called them the first time, but understandable because of the storm). OR it would have been understandable, if it was true, which it was NOT. There was no notification left on the door or at the office and we were home, awake and ready the entire time. NO ONE came by here.

Since we want our $400 back, we have to structure our days around Costco. If we need to go out, only one of us can go at a time. One of us has to get up early in case they ever deign to show up. And if we don't feel well, only one of us can take a nap at a time. Etc.

They said okay then, three more days. Do you think they honored their promise THAT time?

Oh, hell no!

I called a THIRD time on Feb. 27 and talked to a couple of people at various levels up their arrogant incompetence chain, who very nicely repeated, TOUGH SH*T!

I offered to simply send a photo of the broken TV since, yanno, ALL they're gonna do with it when they get it anyway is THROW IT AWAY!

No, no, no. Of course not. Costco has NO ability to accept a photo! That would mean they weren't totally useless, which is against their policy!

Only after I filed a complaint with my credit card company did I get another email. They stated that they would come to pick up the broken TV they so desperately require to have back before issuing us a refund on our money, seeing as how, with our sixty years apiece of excellent credit and no police records, we are OBVIOUSLY A GIANT RISK of trying to pull a fast one with their very valuable defective beyond repair TV that they won't come get! Where was I? Sorry for being stupid, I must have gotten confused and thought I worked for Costco!

Anyway, THIS THIRD TIME AROUND they promised they'd come out within two business days. We are now starting on the second of the two days.

Think they'll make their FIRST pickup attempt NOW, on DAY 20? Or should we just keep running our lives at their convenience indefinitely or just forget about our $400 and be glad they're gone?

Bonus: We actually paid a membership fee for this BS. AND an extra "concierge fee" on the TV on top of the $400.

LISTEN UP, SEARS JUNIOR- IF YOU CAN'T HANDLE SOMETHING - DON'T OFFER IT!

Avoid, avoid, avoid!

UPDATE: OF COURSE THEY DIDNT COME OUT THIS TIME AS PROMISED EITHER, AFTER WE WAITED HERE ALL DAY (UP TO 9:00 PM) FOR THE TWENTIETH DAY!

This is beyond ridiculous. I think I will file in court.

Tip for consumers:
OMFG are you crazy?!?!

None. We just look outside the window and hope something exciting happens out there now.

This site used to be a pretty mature and self-controlled crowd sharing information about gems, jewelry and etcetera. But those members are being run off by the trolls and childish cliques that have taken hold, due to inadequate moderating.

The moderator only seems to stop by every other day or so, after allowing flare ups to grow unchecked into big messes. When she does show up, what she'll do is unpredictable. She often seems to react with favoritism, join in on pile-ons, or not fully read the posts involved before choosing someone to call out. She does this publicly and even shares information about it with the rest of the forum, as if trying to win a popularity contest. Then she demands the courtesy for herself of being replied to in private only (then, likely as not, just ignores those replies).

In my experience, people who are being paid normally have to tend to all parts of their job adequately and also treat customers/members in an unbiased and polite way, handling anything that might embarrass someone behind the scenes. That is not what I've seen lately, so I was surprised to discover that the moderator is a paid employee rather than a volunteer. Things are going downhill.

A place for populist Trump supporters and pseudo (fake) conservatives to vent out and troll those...

Just saying that the mods on this particular site tend to be very biased, though of course not...
