About Me

I love designing as a hobby. Since 2015, I have my own business of digitizing analog photos, slides, documents and videos and bringing them to the 21st century. Helping my clients with their various digital needs as well. I am in the process of decluttering further and using apps to move them.

How I Can Help

I am in the process of downsizing and making as much room at home as possible, so that I can start designing and sell on my site. Also I have been selling items from my closet and jewelry collection and my designs via various apps. Experience selling via Mercari, OfferUp, LetGo, 5Miles, Weebly, Ecrater, (Close5, no longer there merged with another app),Poshmark, eBay, Etsy, Craigslist, Depop (deleted app last year, waste of my time). Mercari is the BEST for sales and buying!

For few years now, I have an account at Poshmark. I recently became Poshmark Ambassador. Now I get a lot of people following me, I cannot keep up with it. I find that it takes too much time to promote and very little return on all the follows and promotions. I checked recently, it's best to have as a seller your pricing to be above $15
Otherwise, they take too much of a percentage of the sales. Instead of deleting my items, I raised the prices, as I don't really care to sell there. However, I will still keep my store up, in case someone likes to buy, because I have lots of stuff from my closet and I don't want to delete. Last year I had 2 sales. This year, so far I sold only one item...
I have also bought items, and I had good experience.

Tip for consumers:
To sell your from your closet, be ready to spend a lot of time to promote. As for buying, each closet is independently owned, so do your due diligence in looking at the reviews. Also, if you have a question, make sure to ask, before you purchase.

I bought cosmetics. There are lots of nice bargains. However, at this point, I am trying to declutter. So I am more of a seller, than a buyer at this time.

I read the reviews and my answer is: eCrater is a platform for you to open your store to sell. Each store at eCrater is independently run. I discovered it in mid 90s and since then I have my store. It's still totally free to set up.
Tip: to check on reputation of sellers, click on an item and see how many items they have sold.

Tip for consumers:
The success of each store is based on the sellers and their honesty. Each store is independently owned. When you upload an item, they do the google feed. You need to familiarize yourself with it's tools. This platform has been there since mid 90s.

I have a store there using their platform since mid 90s. The best way to test the waters, if you like to sell online. Via Ecrater Facebook groups, you could find reputable Ecrater sellers. I started recently featuring active stores on Pinterest. I have been discovering some great sites. Again, best to also check how many items someone has sold. Tip: click on an item and you will have the count of how many items a sellers has made and % of satisfaction. I hope this helps.
As to shipping, returns and refunds, each individual seller sets their policies. It's best to read, before buying a merchandise. Also, contact the seller, if you have questions. If they don't respond, that's already a sign that you shouldn't buy from them. I hope this helps.

I have my booth at Depop app for a year, as I have been trying to declutter my closets. I spread my items over various apps. So far I didn't have a single sale. People follow you, and if you follow back, you only see the items listed by the people you follow! I have yet to figure out how to see NEW item listings!
At this point, I will no longer waste my time adding new items. I'll still keep my booth open, since I put some time and energy to build there my booth...
Perhaps you might have better luck.

Tip for consumers:
If you have time to give it a try, go ahead. I hope it works for you. Besides, at this point, I am trying to declutter and sell stuff I have accumulated.
It's hard to see new listings, the way most apps work. This apps seems to have major shortcomings to discover new listings. I end up seeing only new items of people I follow....

I haven't bought any items, as my searches didn't turn up items I like to buy.

I had uploaded at Box.com app, as I try to spread my online sales on various apps. I had my booth up for over a year. Not a single sale via my booth. So I decided to delete this app from my iPhone, as I like to concentrate on apps where I'm successful. It might work for you. However, it wasn't a good fit for me.

Tip for consumers:
I gave low rating, because, after a year of trying to sell, I had 0 sales. Maybe it will work for you.

This is an app to sell your stuff. It's success depends on each seller's products and service.

It's complete rip-off for sellers. Sell on other sites or donate to legit charity. DO NOT BUY also!

Tip for consumers:
PLEASE, see on youtube reviews from several people who had very BAD experience. I wish I had done my homework before ever sending them anything. I would have rather sent to a legitimate charity than their "scam" business model!!

Products used:
I filled up the large plastic bag they sent me with good quality merchandise and shoes. Glad that I had asked for them to send back what they don't like to sell for me. It was so hard to find that button on the site! They only credited me with $7 and when I closed the account, they sent me with "invalid" gift card!! The $7 I cannot even USE!!! So it's waste of time and I would NEVER BUY from them, as that means others are being cheated!

I tried selling on Mercari for about 4 months ago. I had great experience as a buyer and seller. I wish I had used this app much sooner! Easy to post, offer discounts to those who like, your products have a chance to be shown on similar items, you get alerts of new likes, clean and easy interface. Seeing suggested similar products helps me in pricing my items. You can actually see how many people have liked an item and offer discounts. Daily you may offer for up to ten items discounts, it's optional of course.

I put alerts for items I want to buy and get them. Very easy to transfer the money to my bank.

I sell on other apps as well: Poshmark is too slow to sell, too much energy wasted in promoting, last year I had one sale!
The other apps I sell are OfferUp, where you sell locally and you have the option to ship. The next one is Letgo and Close5 selling locally, slow as a snail, but I like to have local presence. I am On Depop, I don't really like that, not a single sale for the past six months I have been there.
Overall, my number one place to sell is Mercari. Sorry to read the bad experience others are having.
A note regarding Poshmark: I had a girlfriend sell jeans for someone, and she had very bad experience. The buyer didn't like that it was professionally shortened, so the angry buyer cuts from the seams and returns! In the description she always has all the measurements, why would anyone be angry and cut and return? Did it fit or not? So it's a problem if you have someone ruin your item and return it. Specially if you try to do a favor for a friend to sell their stuff!
Luckily I helped her in mending the jeans. Once I heard that, I took down my expensive items off Poshmark. Recently I became Poshmark Ambassador and I am getting a lot of followers (two weeks now) but it has yet to translate to sales... let's see how this year will be there.
In the meantime, I am concentrating my energy on Mercari.

Tip for consumers:
I had the most success in selling at Mercari. I wish I had used this app few years ago, instead of wasting so much time and energy on Poshmark...

Products used:
I bought electronics, stuff for home. I didn’t need to return an item, so I cannot comment about refunds.
