I called and booked reservations at this hotel, receptionist said I would receive an email confirmation of my stay but didn't receive anything. One day before my trip to Quebec, government restrictions regarding COVID had prevented me from travelling. I called the hotel immediately to cancel my reservation, told the lady on the phone what was on the go and the receptionist just said we'll call you back tomorrow.
Tomorrow came and I was charge for my stay. I contacted the hotel again (they didn't call me back) to see why I was charged. My reply from the hotel staff was, it's not our problem what restrictions your province put in place.
I debated back and forth why I should be reimbursed but they were solid on their decision. They then went to say that I didn't give enough notice to cancel. When I asked what was their cancellation policy I was told it was 48 hours. I asked, how was I suppose to know this when you didn't send me any details of my stay, I didn't receive email confirmation of my booking.
I'm still very upset that this happened. Many people have been experiencing had times during COVID including myself ( been off work) and before Christmas. I came to find out that many people that were unable to make their stay at Hotel Chicoutimi that week because of COVID restrictions were all billed for their say.
So I think the GRINCH award this year should go to Hotel Chicoutimi.
Scammers, taking money from individuals like myself, just downright Heartless.

I wrote a review on 04/05/20 and titled it MAYBE A SCAM. 5 days after writing that review I received the ring.
With so many online scams, I initially thought I had become a victim. With poor communication and false information about status of my order I began to think that a engagement ring was not coming my way.
I must say that the ring was beautiful until shortly after the one year warranty was up, the stone fell out. I contacted Honest Solitaire and they repaired the ring at no cost to me. But communication was still not the greatest. For a while I thought I would never see the ring again. It took 2 months from the time I shipped the ring to get it repaired. I shipped the ring in it original ring box but was returned to me in an envelope.
I upgraded my review to two stars because Honest Solitaire did not have to repair the ring outside of the warranty.
I would not have wrote a negative review if I wasn't falsely informed about the status of my order and the truth about the status was communicated to me.
