Granted, it doesn't snow often in Portland OR. But just in case, I've had a pair of Sorels tucked in my heated, dry garage for years. I've worn them maybe 10 times.
It snowed last night. I started to put on my Sorels, and large chunks of the outer rubber broke off on both boots, and on one, the stitching completely came apart on one side.
I know they're too old for a warranty claim, but they were fairly expensive when new. Given the lack of wear and the care with which they were stored, there's no excuse for this.
