I arrived to pick up my rental car in Salt Lake City, and was told: "We don't have any street legal vehicles in the class you rented." The person behind the counter refused to release the vehicle that I had rented, and said that I would have to upgrade if I wanted a vehicle. They further explained that since this was a high-demand time of year for rentals (during Sundance Film Festival), it would be difficult if not impossible to secure another rental. I was forced under duress to upgrade which blew my budget for my trip. I returned the vehicle early to salvage some of the expense. However, this incident cost me dearly.
This was a classic bait and switch tactic. After reading other reviews and noting the sheer volume of similar complaints (up to 62% of complaints are a ONE star!), I surmised that we don't need companies like this in business. Something must be done. Class Action Lawsuit anyone? I'm all in.
