I am the latest victim of these scammers. This morning I searched using SkyScanner.net and found a suitable route on TRIP.AE. After booking the ticket from DOHA to Vancouver for USD 1754.86, I had to cancel due to personal reasons within 1 hour. Soon after canceling, I got an email from TRIP.AE stating they had initiated a refund of USD 1666.36, while at the same time, the website tried to deduct my credit card for USD 1666.36
Update: 28-08-2023
After filing the Dispute Form with my Bank with all the evidence, I got an SMS from the Bank stating the refund amount had been initiated successfully and should be in my account in 3 working days. I am not sure if it's due to me logging the dispute form or if it was by the Merchant.
