Received a Damage Clutch and now being accused of it
Every year my husband has an annual company trip in January. I purchase a plethora of items online from various retailers and return everything I end up not using. Long story short, I purchase a clutch from Saks on 1/17 and it gets delivered on 1/19. However there is a huge stain on the inside of the purse! So I go online that night and immediately put in a return request and select the product is damaged reason. We have to leave for my husband company trip on 1/21. Since I have so many other errands to do before we leave I decide I'll return it when we get back on 1/25. On Feb 12 I get a refund for heels I returned with the clutch. Which immediately I think is odd since the clutch was returned in the same box as the heels. I contact customer service online to inquire abs the say it's still processing so give it the full 14 days. After 14 days I contact customer service again online to inquire about the return and they say it's still being processed and to wait the full 21 days! It was first 14 days now it was 21. Before the 21st day I get a package in the mail it the damaged clutch and letter in the box saying they could not accept my return! I am upset at this point so I call Saks to explain I did not damage the cloth and ask them why they didn't do any due diligence before accusing me of damaging the clutch that I received damaged in the first place. I was frustrated and upset being accused for something I didn't do. I asked them to track who purchased the item before me because they failed to inspect the item before sending it out me. I went through my emails to explain the date sequence of when I received the product to when I went immediately after I received the product to request the return because I noticed it it was damaged right away.
My frustrations stem from the fact that Saks never reached out to me once to investigate and do their due diligence before making the determination that I was the reason for the damaged product. I reached out multiple times and kept being told to follow up on another date. And the sheer fact that I am being accused of damaging a $400 clutch that was sent to me damaged in the first place is appalling!
