These sites have unscreened and often unscrupulous moderators who control EVERYTHING on the sites. They delete everything they don't like, such as opinions or suggestions and they use it as a means to abuse, retaliate and harm people they don't like or anyone who crosses him or her.
Moderators need good diplomacy skills and the ability to understand the sites' guidelines. Our moderator doesn't appear to know anything about the guidelines. She
Deletes things like crazy, even though they are perfectly legitimate. She promotes herself and post a bunch of inaccurate information that is misleading and potentially harmful.
It seems, as you can see from many other post, that the moderator positions seem to attract people looking for ways to make themselves look powerful and allow them to uncouthly manipulate others.
If Nextdoor did something to make sure they had quality moderators, as opposed to psychologically impaired creeps, there would be huge potential, especially with neighborhood safety. Sadly, all of this information is often put in the hands of potentially dangerous moderators who consistently prove themselves untrustworthy.
