My brand new HD washer/dryer broke within 2 months of purchasing it. The washer needs a new motor, capacitor & shifter. GE the manufacturer has not repaired this machine to date (4 weeks). Neither HD or GE can tell me a date that they can repair because they mailed additional parts that won't arrive for two more weeks. I urge you not to repeat my mistake by using Home Depot or GE, both fail in customer service and understanding.

Unfortunately this unit was brand new for a business rental and the expectation for the price was this unit would last years but didn't even make it 15 months before breaking for a 3rd time, which is no longer covered under warranty. (Even though it's the same issue) Repair team was sent out twice but the 3rd will cost me money but the warranty expired even though it's the same issue a 3rd time. This unit should have been replaced and I don't see how a unit barely a 15 old with the same issue 3 times isn't covered by GE. It's too bad because the unit did work great when we got it, but I can't justify the price for a year of unreliability. Looks poor on my business.

My issue is with my refrigerator repair. You have to go back and forth with General Electric people and most of the customer service is rude. Disrespectful disservice is unreliable. I actually have an issue with a repair, my fridge raider and instead of them solving it to expect the customers to wait when you have an appointment just like today I'm waiting on somebody to come that you're late. They just expecting you to just sit and wait for that person and not knowing if they come at all the customer service is Beyond irresponsible

Tip for consumers:
It will be helpful to know what problems that they would solve, and if he becomes an issue that they will reach out to the customer, especially forms of communication, and specially when issues arise

We bought this washer to replace an older Maytag unit. The unit has major faults in it's sensors and spin cycles. The 700 RPM spin cycle has the machine walking all over the floor It has cracked tile on my first floor laundry area and has loosened plumbing in the walls to the point of loud rattling. Nothing has burst yet but I have added shock adsorbing material under the edges of the unit that has helped immensely. Contacting GE does no good since the machine 'works' and does not need service. It seems more and more of these appliances are never used by the designers or they would never make into the market place. I do not recommend this washer from GE.

Bought a $1200 washer that started screaming when washing and especially when spinning right after warranty expired. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

This place is a joke don't buy from Ge
I called the manufacturer and they won't do anything about after 3 months the compressor broke.
Lost all our groceries they said we had to wait 2 wks to have someone come out then when they came out they said part is not available I have to wait 2 more weeks.
They are very rude have no empathy for people ….

We had a GE dishwasher for 18 months and it's totally dead. If you're thinking of buying one, don't. GE won't do anything. It's past the 1 year warranty and their attitude was, not our problem, call the local repair guy. Some of the appliance repair people refuse to even service them, because they'll replace a power board and it will go dead within a week or two and then they have to refund the customer.

Several neighbors have had the same issue.
This model, and maybe others of GE, need to be recalled.

I will tell everyone I know to stay away from GE, and I know we aren't the only ones.

I bought an expensive new range in September. It has been burning what smells like burnt fiberglass every time I use either oven and they won't replace it. This is not the smoke that comes out with the first few uses. This is someting burning somewhere within pumping out awful fumes. They sent the tech out three times and he couldn't fix it. GE refuses to replace it and keeps giving me more appointments with techs.

Bought a standup freezer in February of 2023. Its October and my freezer doesn't work. We lost all our food in the freezer. Called GE to have them fix it or replace it. They set us up with a service tech. Service tech calls and tells us they can't do anything with a freezer. They won't come look at it. Called GE again. They put in an order for the same company who already refused service. Then GE gave us a number to call and they don't service our area. Called GE again and they said we have to find our own service person. They'll reimburse us after we get the service done. No way in hell am I doing their job for them. Plus after all the shenanigans they put us through they probably wouldn't reimburse us. Not to mention part cost and labor. We'd be better off just buying a brand new freezer. I'll never own another GE product. They're just garbage

My experience with General Electric Washers have been a rip-off. As of today I have received from GE a front load washer within two years they begin to leak, this is so frustrating and unfair to the poor, elderly and disabled to all consumers that I believe is having a really bad experiences like I had, first GE put a ONE YEAR WARRANTY on their appliances but my experience have been after a year and a half the washer begin to leak by then the warranty is up and the home warranty I'm contracted with make me pay another $80 bucks to have a repairman to come out just to say "lest order another washer" which is a cycle that I feel is ripping me off. I AM ANGRY WITH THIS COMPANY FOR THIS KIND OF EQUIPMENT AND WARRANT POLICY!

Defective refrigerator General Electric the worst bought a refrigerator from Lowe's a General Electric I have been playing games General Electric for over a year letting the warranty on the fridge raider run out and now will not stand by their product the only thing they say they can do for me is give me a discount on a new fridge raider when I'm still paying off the old one real garbage and the company does not care what they sell and they say they're no longer General Electric they are heairDon't care about their customers never buy a General Electric ever again beware

I ordered a stove through Home Depot in January and had an initial delivery date of February for it. GE called me a week before the delivery to let me know the item is on "back order" so the new delivery date would be March. Then we got a call in March that it would be April, then May, then June. Now I just got another call that it's July. GE always says I have to talk to Home Depot about it if I have any issues with my order yet it's GE that can't tell me if they're ever getting this stove in or not. They are extremely rude on the phone and don't care that it's been 7 months and there's still no sign of a sure date. They just keep giving new dates and refuse to take any type of responsibility. It's not Home Depots job to provide the item, it's GE that can't get their crap together and provide it to Home Depot.
Super rude staff and I'll NEVER purchase another GE product in my life.

Have a newly construction home with new GE appliances - having problems with both dishwasher & refrigerator (both Profile)

I had a GE tech service both units - and did absolutely NOTHING- he tried to run a diagnostic test and said his computer wasn't working when testing the fridge - the ice maker still gets jammed and now the water dispenser is dispensing Luke warm water

The dishwasher - he did a diagnostic test and said everything "seemed ok". The dishwasher continues to leave a white film on the dishes / pots. I've done everything that the owners Manuel recommends (including buying the Finish brand products).
The tech blamed it on the determining old - I bought all the dishwashing products about a month ago. Then he told me to run the kitchen sink water on hot before turning on the dishwasher

Long story short - I wanted home out of my home! I've run the dishwasher four times with the same dishes - and still the whit film remains.

And I scheduled a service about a week and a half ago - took the day off - and the service tech never showed up.

This same tech serviced my neighbors microwave and blew it off the counter by doing who knows what! And left a "burn" on the counter!

GE appliances have gotten worse - in terms of quality and service - I remember when the appliances were great and lasted

GE Price Gouging on microwave replacement part:

I own a GE microwave oven. It is 8 years old and operating fine except for a small plastic grip that snaps into the back of the door handle. The stays that hold this plastic grip in place broke off causing the grip to fall off. I thought this to be a minor problem easily fixed by contacting the GE Customer Service parts department. I spent about 3 hours total, both online and with phone conversations, trying to purchase this replacement part. GE will only sell the entire door handle, which a technician must install, and the minimum cost quoted was $312.00. I was able to get this cost down to a minimum of $130.00 but this was still a ridiculous price for a part that probably cost less than $1.00 and that could be mailed to me to snap in place myself. My last call, on 10/13/2015, was to the CEO and Chairman's office in Fairfield, CT where I spoke to a Ms. Kelly Johnson. Ms. Johnson told me "GE owes you nothing. Your appliance is reaching the end of its life cycle…Good Bye!" Wow! From initial contact to the very top, GE made it clear they do not stand behind their products and they are not interested in helping customers fix anything. They only want to make you buy something new. SADLY, I AM A GE CUSTOMER NO MORE!
