“Terrible customer Service..”

With my name change, I applied for a new credit and debit card. Visited the bank and gave them all the documents. The debit card arrived in two weeks but it's five weeks now and no sign of the Credit card. On calling them, they claim they don't have my ID with the new name and that I should visit the bank (AGAIN)! I wonder how did they process my debit card if they didn't have my name change documents! Utter carelessness and complete disregard for customers' time. Changing my bank for sure.

Use to own it, sold about two years ago, did well on it. I got nervous due to the trade issues and China cheating on everything with communist support.

As an overseas Customer I travelled a long way to get here to this place, This bank didn't recover my stolen funds, the staffs were unfriendly and arrogant, waited for 2 hours to get help, the queue wasn't even busy, might as well shut this business down if u are not looking forward to customers. Going to switch banks next time!

Hang Seng in Tsim Tsa Tsui is probably the worst bank, rude and incompetent staff!

I was expecting funds from abroad on the 27th October 2021, but unfortunately i did not receive it, i waited another 2 weeks for my money to be received, there was nothing! I have sent an email to hang seng bank, i have sent proof of payment MT103, my banking details were all correct, i had a lame response to tell me that i must phone my local bank it's not the their problem. I have waited for 3 months for Hang Seng to resolve my issue, i was really upset to hear that my money of ******* hong kong dollars got sent to the wrong person in Belgium, it was too late that person already used all of my funds. The bank staffs apologised, but they couldn't recover my stolen funds!

If you plan to use mobile app for banking, better do not choose hang seng bank. Because the mobile app is poorly design. Every time you change the mobile device, set up is not an issue. When the system sense you first start to use the mobile app in the new phone, the system will freeze your online banking pay and transfer function until you complete another verification by using voice verification or phone banking verification. It is very time consuming specially for someone like us always travelling. Change mobile is very common act nowaday, why change mobile device will freeze your online banking funciton. It is totally ridiculous. HSBC has such setting

I have been a customer of this Hong Kong bank for years and I am generally satisfied, especially with the recent addition of online customer service chat. Website is complex and confusing, but security measures have evolved to become EXTREMELY secure. Gold is a first class "currency" in your account alongside about a dozen fiat currencies, but STILL no bitcoin. Fees are reasonable to cheap. Used to be anyone with a passport could walk in and open and account, but I hear that has become considerably more difficult (while still remaining possible, especially if you are not in a hurry). Perhaps the sticking points are the result of a focus on domestic clients, and while their online banking has gotten considerably strong over the years, they seem to be not particularly eager to take on and keep foreign clients. Like most banks, they work for the government, not for YOU.
