“My favorite way to subscribe to magazines”

Ive been using Magazines.com for many years and have never had a problem. The prices are low and the service is very good. Other reviewers have complained about the auto renewal of subscriptions. I recommend that as soon as you place an order, go directly into your list of magazine subscriptions and turn off the auto renewal for your magazine. If you forget to do this, Magazines.com also emails you about a month before the subscription will be renewed so you can change/cancel it if you want. Also, Magazines.com sends emails with specials, discounts and coupons $5 - $7 off.

VERY SHADY BUSINESS TO AVOID. Had to cancel it at the bank. No response to emails sent. Plus we weren't exactly thrilled at theses guys changing from Martha Stewart to real simple magazine. M Stewart stopped printing magazines so why would i want to auto renew to something else. Really? Update...after canceling their ability to charge me next month for the auto renewal; they've acknowledged my cancelation thru email. I'd recommend not doing business with magazines.com

I'd give this organization a minus star if that was offered. They have a customer service number that can't understand anything (and also can't understand the 'press numbers for service' it offers you either - no, it 'doesn't understand' and then hangs up - I called twice - same response) and then there's the CHAT - like; NO CHAT would be more accurate. There's no one home at this company but they're raking in the dough and they're plenty available for your credit card info - they don't have any problem understanding THAT. Just don't ask for SERVICE. UGH.

People magazine that was advertised as buy a year get 2 months free-They canceled after one year and I never received my 2 months free. My fault I didn't save the original offer copy...customer service no help. Buyer beware

I purchase people magazine for my 95 yr old Mom so that she has something interesting to keep her occupied, especially since she is very hard of hearing. I also handle her finances and I was extremely shocked to find a debit to her account for over $100.00 for one magazine. This is beyond gouging this is robbery. I agreed to having it renewed but not for that amount, especially since it can be purchased for just $44.00 on their website. Really creepy business practice.

I never received one issue of magazines. I asked customer service when I canceled and never received a response back. I should have received 4-6 issues. Don't waste your time or money with mags.com

We ordered magazines for our son on October 14th and the subscription was never sent over to the proper magazine and we have spent two months trying to remedy this finally just requesting a refund! They are a freaking joke

Over $50 was fraudulently charged to my credit card at MAGS.COM. After wasting valuable time with my credit card company, which cancelled the charge, I had to destroy my old credit card and they will send me a new card.

I purchased a one year subscription to the digital version of People magazine though Magazines.com. I received access to one issue ONLY! After that I was unable to view any others. Their website said I had no subscriptions. I called customer service & waited on hold for 35 min., only to be told they only service print subscriptions. I was given a phone number to call. That person said he could not handle my problem & gave me an email address to contact. All I get is passed on & no answers to where my subscription is. I would strongly recommend that you DO NOT use this company. I haven't decided if they are scammers or just an incompetent business!

To save $$$, join Ebates.com first. To order a magazine, start at Ebates, search for Magazines.com & Ebates will show you the savings for shopping there (today it’s 42%). On the left is a red button “Shop Now”. Clicking it takes you to Magazines.com where you place an order & pay. Magazines.com notifies Ebates that you made a purchase & the amount. Ebates calculates 42% of your magazine purchase & adds it to your account. Ebates mails checks every 3 mos. Savings varies 26-50% for Magazines.com.

I noticed my bank account was charged for 2 magazine subscriptions I never ordered and I was out about $70.00! They had re newed a free subscription to Southern Living that I never authorized & in fact had auto renew turned off! I ordered 20 issues of People magazine for $16.48 and then in addition to that was charged over $48.00 for 40 more issues of People & I haven't even received my first issue of my subscription at all! I called & was told I would get refunds but would take a couple of weeks. I am holding my breath I actually ever get my money refunded! I will NEVER order magazines through this shady company again. I guess it's best to order magazine subscriptions directly from the magazine itself, even if it costs more! The customer service person was a bit rude to me and very impatient. Once I get my refund, if indeed I ever get my refund, I am done with this company forever and will NEVER do business with them again! STAY AWAY from this company!

I have been trying to get ahold of this company to request a refund for a week. I have been put on hold every time I call and wait and wait but no one ever comes on the line. Just a recording saying "the next available agent will take your call". I do not recommend this company at all!

This company has changed. I used them previously and never had a problem. Now I cannot contact anyone. The contact form does not work, none of the links in the emails they send work, and you can only call during a small window on PST. I just want to cancel a subscription. Get your magazines elsewhere / not worth the hassle.

I have tried to cancel and stop auto renew several times and it doesnt stop. My cousin in prison can no longer receive and some how they just wont stop renewing and charging my account. I am contacting the Better Business Bureau

This many people can't be wrong and I'm here to verify that magazine.com is a horrible company. They don't want you to sign in because it'll be easier to cancel or to not do the auto renewal. I searched for a way to subscribe to one of my magazines and found you can do it on Amazon and for the first year it was only $5.75 if I did auto renew, which I don't mind because I know I can easily go in and change with them. If Amazon doesn't allow for whatever magazine you look for go anywhere else.
I would give Magazine.com a negative or 0 rating if possible.

use someone, anyone, else to subscribe to your favorite magazines.

Ordered four gift subscriptions on November 11. No one has yet to receive their magazines. Called and discovered it will be another month yet. Are you kidding me?!
Worse is their customer service. They couldn't even help me with two of the subscriptions, forcing me to call that magazine direct. WTH is the point of this useless company?

This is a dishonest company. I would give Zero Stars if I could. I missed seeing an email that warned of an upcoming renewal. Here refund policy seems unfair. The rep could not provide me with the actual numbers for how much I was charged and how much time was left on the subscription so that I could calculate the amount I should be refunded. So it seems that they do not refund proportionately to issues received/not received.
Also, their chat function does not allow printing or saving of the entire chat (see attached). The rep asked me to take screenshots, than closed the chat which OBLITERATED the chat dialogue. Examination of the browser cache to retrieve it shows that it must be encrypted because there is nothing legible to see (it was https, so I guess that is to be expected, but not such an underhanded treatment regarding refunds or chat logs.)

Southern Living, a magazines.com publication, continues to solicit my mother to renew her subscription. She passed away in December 2019. In prior years, they have been notified in writing and via email to no avail. As of today, it is not possible to contact them via their "Email Us" page since it won't recognize a valid mail address.

Tip for consumers:
Be very wary of any subscription service that automatically renews and presents roadblocks to cancel.

Didn't receive all magazines, tried to cancel but could get no confirmation email. Service rep kept trying to sell me other things, kept saying email had been send but I had not received after five minutes. BAD, BAD, BAD

They've been automatically charging me for a year and I haven't even gotten any product. I wouldn't even have notice this again if it wasn't for Amazon alerting me to it. Just another scummy website taking peoples money. Please be aware of this site and stay away.

I purchased 2 mags. The first subscription took over 2 months to get and when I did they came back to back. I never got the 2 subscription I ordered. I went to cut off the automatic renewal and it cancelled the subscription I had already paid for both subscriptions. And good luck trying to get your money back. It would be less painful to pull out your own tooth. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THEM! TOTAL RIP OFF!
